IDOC always claims to care about people in their custody. Revolting and disgraceful are realistic terms to accurately align with IDOC and their overall severe lack of care and accountability. Another clear example of IDOC “compassion”.😒#WhereAreYouGovPritzker
“Shawnee water looks grayish, but turns clear after sitting for a while. It smells bad. I only really smell it when in the shower. And tastes like powder," explained a man incarcerated in Shawnee Correctional Center. @GovPritzker, when will you act? #water4all #prisonwatercrisis

Thanks to bipartisan support, a stalwart leader in @DonHarmonIL, and the hard work of some of the most wonderful of Miller’s children (IYKYK), we’ve effectively eliminated JLWOP in Illinois.

Everyone deserves the opportunity for redemption!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you @DonHarmonIL for your leadership and for passing House Bill 1064. We should not be condemning young people to die in prison with no possible chance of a parole review.

You can be kind and take no shit. You can be respectful and disagree. You can be humble and confident. You can be empathic and say no. You can be vulnerable and strong. You can forgive someone and not let them back into your life. You can be spiritual and tell someone to fuck off

Tons of fearmongering and misinformation is spreading about the Pretrial Fairness act. Why? Because for decades politicians have relied on the creation of fear to lock up more and more people instead of actually listening to the data and science.
Republicans spreading fear about the Pretrial Fairness Act don't want you to hear stories like Miguel's. Miguel was jailed for nine months not because he was a danger to anyone but because he couldn't afford bond. When his case went to trial, he was found not guilty.
