My grandfather passed away last year, leaving behind more than twenty volumes of journals, written half in Urdu and half in English, in which he recorded the entirety of his adult life: his years at AMU, his love for reading, his faith, his children, and the inevitability (1/12)

People don’t take into account that Umar-Sharjeel-Kanhaiya et al took on this Govt. when it was at its strongest (2 yrs. into power & the entire country drunk on faux nationalism). Not taking anything away from Neha, Dipke etc. but they fight a stale Govt. losing trust rapidly.
Kanhaiya fumbled a generational run, man. His old videos are on feed, the videos I watched on YouTube when I was in school.

a buddhist monk, a hijabi girl, a bihari student, a queer person, a delhi local, a gurudwara prabandhak, an old grandpa, a young journalist...nothing worth saving in this country is a monolith, and that's true for its democracy as well.
Continuous whistling by police to kill their own audio? A monk tries to save a young man from detention, without much success. @tarunzero @thewire_in

It would take *one million years* for 100 workers working non-stop at the minimum wage to earn as much as Adani already has - Jean Dreze explains.

This literally gave me chills. The testimony of a detainee who was taken by the police to a community centre in Pandwalan Khurd. This is Horrific.

the american internet has got to a point where knowing things is autism?? and having hobbies is a hyperfixation?? some of you have just never encountered a culture where children are actively encouraged to be curious about the world.

ICYMI, Neha Bora fooled the police with their lookalike being present in RK Puram and the police went after her, and that's how Neha was able to protest in CP today and was probably aiming to reach Jantar Mantar. Amazing!
We have crossed the barricades and reached CP.

the best guy friends to have are the aloo-gajar-almost-gay duo ie one tall skinny man and another short stout man both of whom are madly in love with each other and you just feel like the obstacle in between their starcrossed forbidden love story.
