I've had some seasoned guests on HangarDX, but none with as many years of experience as @unclebobmartin He's been writing software since the 1960s. He's also the first guest who started sharing his screen mid-conversation to show how he works now. And how he works now is that he barely reads code.

"People aren't ready, this is gonna change everything" You know what people weren't ready for? Fucking mammoths. Tigers eating them. Monkeys ripping their arms off. The black plague. The ice age. Smallpox. Vikings pulling up on the beach. Drinking water that gives you diarrhea until you die. Getting a scratch and losing your whole leg. The Mongols. The Spanish Inquisition. One volcano can send us back to the dark ages and these safety guys are gonna be shocked. Oh the robots didn't kill us? It was a volcano? Imagine their disappointment as the hot ash rains down on them. A solar flare is gonna explode your phone in your pocket your legs are gonna be covered in battery acid and your bank account will stop working. You're afraid of a computer program doing math? "Things are moving too fast" homie you live on a rock that periodically deletes everything. You are one the most luckiest entities in a 100 light year radius living during a golden era. Cheer up. My ancestors crossed an ocean in a wooden box because they ran out of fucking potatoes. "The social disruption will be enormous!" Nigga World War 2? World War 2? Hop in the people carrier we're landing on the beach. Are these people out of their fucking minds? Do they not know what we've survived already? A couple decades of air conditioning and people suddenly think oh this is the natural condition of mankind. No. We used to have eight kids because seven didn't make it. You're gonna be fine. Man the fuck up. Accelerate.

Are we going to keep ignoring how ChatGPT now always starts its answers with "Yes"?

Current Formula 1 ICEs are so nerfed and boring that the F1 TV crew can comfortably interview people standing by cars while they warm up their engines. I doubt this would ever happen near V10 or even V8 cars.

I don't get why people still thinks AGI is here or we don't need to read AI generated code. AI is paradoxically awesome and does wonders and at the same time it's as dumb and stupid as a doorknob. It writes bad code and makes stupid decisions all the time.

Case in point, this just came out, one after another, after half a day fighting the agent to correct a bunch of bad decisions.

node_modules is the worst thing that happened to SSDs

I just read some Rust code and now my eyes don't stop bleeding

working on a 500LOC module. every change claude makes to it results in a metric ton of footguns. i don't usually get to see the code in this UI, so this like a shitty dark factory way of working. coding is solved.

This is the best technical deep dive on what Quattro brought to Omarchy. Why it fixed almost everything that plagued earlier versions. Fantastic video by @typecraft_dev 🤘 youtube.com/watch?v=5JPYJfN7…

Electron might die soon here is an app fully built with gpuix (Node.js & React bindings for GPUI) rendering 5k messages no webview. everything is rendered in the GPU via Bun
why is every desktop app migrating to Electron? I thought code was cheap now and agents could do everything? why are you eating all my expensive RAM?

Browsing movies in streaming platforms sucks so bad. The UX is terribly broken. I keep seeing the same movies over and over as I scroll and navigate through catalogs. They flood you with redundant info that makes it hard to decide what you want to watch.
