This is a great read from @dannykay68. AI is the latest boogyman in research publishing when it is only a tool that highlights existing flaws in the system. Chief among these is the focus on research papers as the major assessment metric for the value of researchers
✍️Danny Kingsley argues, much like open access twenty years earlier, AI holds a dark mirror to enduring flaws in research publishing and assessment. #OpenAccess wp.me/p4m9em-cBM

their ''costs'' per article must be immense🤑
What does it mean that a "non-profit" #scholarlypublisher charges +6,000USD for publishing a #researcharticle?! 🤯 please help me understand this system! 😭

I hope this is not the way that @OpusEu wants the incentivse researchers with a ''new''assessment system

and note that @OpenAlex_org lists almost 90% of DOAJ listed journals
Interesting analysis proving that bilbiometric studies using Scopus and WoS as a starting point can never give you the whole picture of #OpenAccess. Scopus and WoS use #DOAJ metadata (like @OpenAlex_org does), but they have their own criteria for what's included. #scholcomm
