If you’re German and living abroad: make sure not to miss the deadline for voter registration for the upcoming election.
Even if you registered for past elections, you *will probably have to re-register* (deadline: 21 days before the election).
The registration form will ask you to provide your past two registered home addresses in Germany (with exact registration/de-registration dates; thx German bureaucracy).
As of September 2024, you can now submit the registration form via e-mail, see auswaertiges-amt.de/de/24414… — it’s probably a good idea to get in touch with your local city administration ahead of time if you’re from a small town, since they might not be familiar with this new process.

Some learnings from consistent sleep tracking:
* Alcohol isn't worth it (not even a single glass)
* Travel & Jetlag (9h time diff) are challenging, even w/ a good protocol
* Late work (touching laptop within 2h of sleep onset) isn't ideal

Eighty years ago today, over 7,000 prisoners of the German Nazi camp #Auschwitz, including some 700 children, were liberated by the soldiers of the Soviet Army.
1,689 days of murder, pain, suffering, and humiliation were over.
Today, we all remember. We must keep remembering.

Today, we presented our corpus of 100,000 relational databases at @NeurIPSConf which we built to foster research on large foundational models for relational databases. We are looking forward to see how this corpus is going to be used. Great work Liane & Micha @tuda_systems @DFKI
Happy to share that our work on WikiDBs - a large-scale corpus of relational databases - was accepted as a spotlight to the Dataset & Benchmarks track @NeurIPSConf. This is an important step for enabling foundation models on structured databases rather than text or images.

Our recent workshop paper puts Vision-Language Models like #GPT4o to the test with Bongard problems🧩
We show that VLMs struggle to identify concepts that are quite intuitive to humans. Still a long way to go for human-like visual reasoning! 🤖🧠
