Some of the work that changes a student’s life will never fit neatly into a spreadsheet. It is the conversation after a rough moment. The relationship that finally makes a student feel safe enough to try. The extra time spent helping someone rebuild trust, regulate, or believe they can do better tomorrow. None of that means academics matter less. It means teaching has always been bigger than what can be measured on a report.
