The CBC baseball team defeated Vianney 6-1 in the Class 6 semifinals on Friday at Ozark Mountain Sports Complex to secure a spot in the championship game at 1PM Saturday against either Rockhurst or Blue Springs South. Senior left-hander Danny Berger (6-1) tossed a complete game and allowed just one run on six hits. Senior center fielder GT Taylor had a two-double, two RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base. The CBC baseball team is headed back to the Missouri State High School Activities Association Class 6 Baseball Championships on June 5-6 at the Ozark Mountain Sports Complex in Ozark. The Cadets (26-16-1), who defeated host Francis Howell Central in the quarterfinal best-of-three-games series, will be making the 10th trip in school history to the final four. They are back in the championship weekend for the first time since finishing fourth in 2021. They won championships in 2010 and 2015, finished second in 2013 and took third in 1964, 1974, 1990, 1991, and 2007. CBC will face Metro Catholic Conference rival Vianney (32-10) at 10 AM Friday (June 5) at Ozark Mountain Sports Complex.
