If you want to understand why a lot of Black folk, have such a problem with Byron Donalds and are calling him out right now, look at the record: This isn’t about him being a Black Republican. It’s about what he has repeatedly supported, opposed and defended as a Black man. 1. HIS COMMENTS ABOUT BLACK FAMILIES UNDER JIM CROW Donalds actually said: “During Jim Crow, the Black family was together… Black people have always always been conservative-minded, but more Black people voted conservatively.” “Black people voted conservatively.” But the reality is, during Jim Crow, Black people couldn’t vote.
