A problem with PennDOT is Philly's district office is located within King of Prussia sprawl. Boston and NYC get it right: departments that serve a premier city should be within that city. How will people who live and drive in KoP know how best to spend billions in Philly?
PennDOT is proving itself to be both antiquated and deeply tunnel visioned in its priorities. It is not, and may never have been, an institution that understands what's best for Philly. PennDOT must not be allowed to throw yet another Philly neighborhood under the bus.

Why do 'booming' American towns struggle to budget for basic services? Look to the suburban development pattern.

Trump exhausted every legal avenue available to him to overturn the election, but the legal path just took him back to the truth: that I won the election—and he lost.

Europe has a much lower traffic death rate than America. It’s not because Europeans are simply less-error prone. It’s due to decades of policy choices to make unsafe roads that prioritize speed over safety, combined with the danger posed by large SUVs and trucks
This is awful. “Nearly 43,000 people died in U.S. traffic crashes in 2021, the highest number in 16 years” Almost all due to human error. This is what motivates us to work with urgency at @cruise. abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/…

Wow, we're on a roll, we just interlinked our site with @MDBiodiversity which is an unparallelled resource for the distribution of organisms (not just plants) in the state of Maryland. This site also addresses a key gap in USDA and BONAP data. 2,947 pages linked!

We just interlinked our site with the Missouri Plants website: missouriplants.com/ For all linked records, the page on our site will now include a link to the corresponding record on Missouri Plants. This website is a great resource for wild plants in Missouri.

Our latest blog post summarizes our successes of 2022 and goals for 2023. We've also published our 2022 financial statement. We got a ton done, also had some fundraising successes, but are still far from our mid-term financial goals: bplant.org/blog/26

These are cars in my neighborhood. @SecretaryPete a Rhodes scholar, says we need more research to know whether being hit in the head and torso by something that weighs 4 tons is worse than being hit in the legs by something that weighs 2 tons. These cars are *designed* to kill.

Right now, Putin is plunging Europe into its darkest time since 1939. Any government hoping to sit this out is naïve. Don’t repeat mistakes of the past. Hit Russia with severe sanctions now. Help Ukraine with military and financial support. Together we can #StopRussianAggression.

These ecoregion-based plant range maps cover far more plants, communicate more information, and are more accurate than our first-generation maps. Our blog post explains what we did, how we did it, why, and where we're going: bplant.org/blog/18 #ecoregions #nativeplants

Eutrochium purpureum prefers drier, shadier habitats than other Joe-Pye species, and does well in degraded habitats such as edges and small forest fragments. This plant is easy to grow in the garden and has great potential for ecological restoration: bplant.org/plant/787
