18M worker shortage in healthcare. 800,000 automotive technician shortage. There's not enough people to do all the stuff AI might make some ppl 10x more productive, but it's stuck on a computer Smart glasses are the missing piece to bring AI to the other 70% of the world's economy Every worker will be wearing smart glasses, making them an augmented node in your organization, working better, smarter, faster, more accurately Take documentation. Instead of workers manually typing in a log of what they did, just let the AI watch you work and automatically create the log, with photo evidence, as you go Every worker will upgrade themselves with AI. @MentraGlass builds the platform to make it happen

Everyone is getting excited about Physical AI. Smart glasses that let AI see what you see and hear what you hear. We are too. But sometimes you don't need any AI at all. You just need a human on a call to help you diagnose a problem or fix an urgent issue. That's why we built Mentra Call. To connect workers with the person who knows how to do it. Mentra Call wider availability coming in October.

Many people are saying this The future of computing is open and user controlled. Choose your AI, choose your reality. – at San Francisco, CA
Replying to @caydengineer
@caydengineer Congrats! Fantastic product. In 4 days we achieved more with @MentraGlass than what we were able to do with a "well known brand" in one year. Now we can confidently move on to the next challenge

Your app already works with these smart glasses. Pair them like headphones to use Google Meet, Spotify, WhatsApp calls, etc. out of the box. Want more? Load up the Mentra Bluetooth SDK and add camera, buttons, etc. right in your existing mobile app. – at San Francisco, CA

Our smart glasses now work as a USB webcam. Plug them into your laptop and your computer sees from your point of view. Use it in Google Meet, Zoom, OBS, Python, or straight to your OpenClaw. We're making smart glasses so open, you don't even need our app. – at San Francisco, CA

In the year 2000, Windows OS had >90% market share. Over the next few years, phones went smart, and they needed an OS. Microsoft tried to copy-paste Windows onto phones. It was a train wreck. But Android showed up and considered the new challenges of power usage, touch screen UI, and mobility, and they designed for these from the start. That led to a better solution that now has the vast majority of smart phone market share. It’s now 2026, and glasses are going smart. Incumbents think they will copy-paste their existing phone OS onto the glasses. But they’re not considering the new challenges of power usage, glasses UI, and proactive/contextual interaction. That’s why we’re building MentraOS. We believe smart glasses need to be great eyewear first, or they’ll never get adopted. This introduces massive challenges around lightweight (<40 grams with Rx lenses), all-day battery, and the ability to run multiple apps simultaneously that are listening and can activate at any moment. We don’t believe the previous generation of operating systems will enable that to happen. MentraOS treats the glasses as lightweight, simple input/output devices and offloads all the heavy processing to the phone. That enables sleek, light glasses that run all day. MentraOS has an app runtime and orchestration layer on the phone that assumes multiple apps are running and listening at the same time. This enables proactive AI that helps you the moment you need it. Just as important, MentraOS is 100% open source. OEMs building glasses need access to the source code to move fast, make modifications, and ensure they continue to own the stack. What’s this mean for you? As a user, it means that you get the best glasses experience, where your daily prescription glasses go smart and offer you new value in daily life. As a dev, it means you can write 1 app that runs on any pair of smart glasses. As an OEM, it means you can focus on building great hardware because the app ecosystem is handled by MentraOS. 100s of companies are deploying MentraOS right now. Want to start building on MentraOS? Get any pair of supported glasses and get building. – at San Francisco, CA

OpenAI just dropped a completely new kind of model gpt-realtime-translate takes in speech audio from any language and outputs speech in your target language LLMs are great, but you need specialized models for specialized use cases We're running this on our smart glasses

Pins, pendants, bands, and phone magnets are interesting AI form factors that are doomed to fail. They'll fail because they can't augment your vision, which is the highest bandwidth channel to our minds. But glasses can augment vision. And because they aren't form factors that many people wear. But glasses are worn by billions of people daily. AI notetaking is a prime example. Glasses are the best interface because they hear what you hear, they see what you see... and because you're already wearing them. Mentra Notes on Even Realities G2 remembers the most important parts of your conversations, so you don't have to. Just turn it on and it will start transcribing in the background. After each conversation, Google Gemini will summarize the whole convo. You can then email the note to anyone, or export just the text. You can then send that meeting summary text anywhere or paste it into ChatGPT. Want to try? Get the Mentra app on your phone from Google/Apple app stores. – at San Francisco, CA
