If the UK Government are condemning the actions of the IDF, why are we still training their soldiers?

I recommend this video from the former US ambassador to Denmark to every US citizen. So that they know that the citizens of this country, which their US vice president referred to as a bad ally, were putting their lives on the line for the US in Afghanistan

Was it for this that the US spent 80 years building power and alliances? Not to be a force for good. But instead to impoverish neighbours, threaten those it protected, rob minerals from war-torn countries, and break its promises to 100s of millions of the poorest in the world? 🧵

The Hound of the Baskervilles at @tbtlake is an absolute joy. A rip-roaring, chaotic, hilarious adaptation that has the audience howling. British slapstick comedy at its best!! Showing until 14th September in the main house. Photo credit Hugo Glendinning theatrebythelake.com/event/t…

Watch this it’s fascinating - I asked James Timpson what he’d do about prisons and sentencing if he was in charge. He believes only a third of prisoners in jail should definitely be there. He’s now in charge of prisons (but not sentencing).

Dear Labour Government, Please rethink the nation’s relationship to the arts. Basically, stop thinking of them as a luxury. They’re not. The arts are a central part of what makes us human: a priority; our song to the heavens. All societies are judged by the art they leave behind.

Delighted to see more Green MPs, but very sorry to see the loss of Thangam Debonnaire. A real musician in charge of the Dept of Culture would be an inspiring change.

Flipping @BBCRadio3 and your rubbish programme schedule… ruined my Saturday mornings!! Just switched off again and will stream @francemusique instead. Can’t believe you moved an absolute peach of a programme (Record Review) to an inconvenient afternoon slot. 😡

Well said Adele.
Which means that half the nation would mind very much indeed. Me included. This kind of reasoning is mad… quite a lot of people don’t read books. Shall we close libraries?
