So many congratulations to these shortlistees and to the winner, Ben Reeves! Thank you to @BathNovelAward for letting me read, it was truly a joy to step into these worlds, I loved having the chance to discover these voices. Congratulations, all!
Many congratulations to R.N. Swann! I loved the voice of IN CASE I GO MISSING when it came into our inbox. It's a tightly plotted mystery, but it's also a moving story about coming of age and friendship in a small town. Truly special.
Congratulations to R.N. Swann! Her debut IN CASE I GO MISSING has been acquired in a six-figure pre-empt by Viking Children's. paperliterary.com/blog/rn-sw…
Congratulations @MelissawritesYA! I read this in one sitting when it came into my query inbox - I'm so thrilled that she has found incredible champions on both sides of the Atlantic. A deeply romantic and magical reimagining of Tristan and Isolde.

10 years ago I was still stuck in the query trenches (lost & confused). Here’s a few things I’ve learned about writing/publishing in the past decade 🧵
1. Resilience. Rejection is part of the job. It gets easier. It’s not that your work isn’t good it’s that it isn’t a good fit.
