👋 Hi there! I've decided to start writing about design again, this time over on Substack. My first post is on learning about design through fun puzzling: tangleandflow.substack.com/p…
Turns out all that time I thought I wasted playing clicker games was great practice for helping my mom get a vaccination appointment. I will not be defeated! *refresh*, *refresh*, *refresh*...
Deeply grateful that I can afford to give up after 3 hrs of being stonewalled by the hospital & my insurance, and throw an extra $40 at a doctor visit that as far as I can tell I don't owe. Health care in this country is so broken.
Called @OptumRx @Optum_Support to fix mistake they made (changed my Rx to the wrong drug then rejected it) & got endlessly transferred & hung up on. In the end they put in yet another order for the wrong drug. What a customer journey! I guess I didn't need to breathe well anyway.
I’m so happy to hear this it’s a HUGE improvement 🎉
BIG news! @BOENYC just released an Absentee Ballot Tracking system that confirms:
1) if they received your absentee ballot request
2) if they mailed your absentee ballot
3) if they accepted your absentee ballot, and how to fix it if they did not

Hey folks! Thank you so much for the overwhelming love and support! We are not currently accepting donations (we will let you know when we are!) but will be tagging some other orgs and projects you should consider supporting in the thread below. The best way to support us in 1/7
I’m calling it the trump virus from now on since he’s done so much to promote it and seems to like having his name on stuff.
easypaymetrocard.com has one of the worst online forms I've had to fill out in many years and the flows overall are... painful 😠
The fact that I can search for, find, and download a book from the @nypl onto my phone while waiting for the subway still utterly astounds me. Libraries are the best. 📚📲
Thinking a lot about information architecture today as I search for where to buy the lamp that apparently exists only in my mind
I find the way people throw around "use case" as a justification for everything annoying, since it usually just means "situation I dreamed up that justifies the thing I want to do"
consciousness = storytelling 🤯 (from @contextbook, which I’m just finishing, but it’s so packed with insights I’ll probably have to read it again)
Just got out the 🐒🔧 to open this recalcitrant seltzer, because I am nothing if not a PROBLEM SOLVER.
(Also a collector of useful tools.)
Week off! 🎉 Among other projects, I’m going to get back into drawing after a loooong hiatus and try to finally get the hang of @Procreate Looking now for classes, tutorials, etc. Any recs? (🙂 to 💰 for something recommended)
How Buildings Learn (my favorite UX book that isn’t a UX book), @WeWork edition: archpaper.com/2018/07/wework…
Excited for this beautiful book, available on Kickstarter for 4 more days: kickstarter.com/projects/152…
Very well articulated article on measuring user experiences — I'm sharing with my team right now, and look forward to the rest of the series
