Managing low-volume metachronous metastatic hormone-sensitive #ProstateCancer. @PBarataMD @caseccc joins @zklaassen_md @GACancerCenter to discuss useing germline/somatic testing + patient factors (CV risk, polypharmacy, cognition, frailty) to guide therapy. Default: ADT + ARPI unless comorbidities limit benefit. Every 3 months he addresses BP, glycemia, diet, exercise/muscle and bone health (DEXA, Ca/VitD). New study with our amazing partners showing calorie restriction reduces aging associated mutation accumulation in mice is out in @CellCellPress.
While lots of interventions increase mutations, here we show CR can actually slow normal aging-associated mutations genome-wide!
Remarkable linkage between diet, genomic integrity, and lifespan.
Interestingly, benefits were not uniformly distributed across the genome.
