This week the 4 biggest publicly-traded Canadian oil companies posted $13.3b after-tax profit in the 2nd quarter ($146m per DAY). Like other global oil giants, they are getting rich from the misery caused by Trump's war. My take in today's @TorontoStar: thestar.com/business/opinion… /2

Why does Canada make cars anyway, Jamieson Greer asks? Because we make them better than America does. And we spend $100 b/yr buying 2 million of them! @UniforTheUnion's 2026 round of talks with Ford can highlight the industry's staying power here. #canlab thestar.com/business/opinion…

1/ This announcement marks the Carney government’s official surrender to the oil and gas lobby.
By gutting carbon pricing to the point of irrelevance, it has dismantled the last federal climate measure standing. We now have a federal government that no longer even pretends to rein in big corporate polluters.

The Liberals wants to sell off Canada's ports & airports— strategic assets that will end up in the hands of foreign buyers.
When the UK privatized Heathrow, Saudi Arabia, Qatar & China took major stakes.
Will PM Carney protect our sovereignty — or sell it to the highest bidder?
