Is it just me or are animators reaching some sort of zenith where it's possible to see the coolest thing you've ever seen like every other day
Emilie Tronche ("Samuel") directed "Ça pik un peu quand même", a music video for French-Korean singer Miki.

any 2d oldheads who have managed to become proficient building low-poly scenes in blender? do you have any recommended entry-points?
they should really warn ppl more when starlink is gonna launch something me everyone else on the freeway thought we were gonna die this evening
telling myself "I can always add blush to the character design in clean-up" is doing a lot of emotional work for me rn
once when storyboarding for a major studio I got an exec note that the character couldn't frown for about 6 frames because children would find it too distressing
It pains me that we'll never have mature scenes (and great artistry) like this in children's movies again because the industry has collectively decided kids are suddenly too stupid to consume anything other than Attempt At Frozen #4858654 and CGI reboot slop
beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and there are actors out there with a weirdly serious commitment to torching everyone's ability to behold it

We are making beautiful things
This app is literally full of artists making amazing things
But they are almost all doing it on their own time & dime
What we need are people with power & money to start caring about beautiful things again & supporting them

people yearn for the TV of yesterday bc they miss the way their head felt when there was less stuff screaming for their attention
the value proposition of looking at something has, within 30 years, gone from something you'd pay for to negative. we live in a world where you can easily accidentally sully your eyes with AI slop
if you're young and have artistic or storytelling talent, the best art form to be indie in right now is video games. you can still make a video game that people will give you a few dollars for. don't build your house on the sand of ad-based revenue!
and if you make indie games: please please please please do not just give your shit away. not saying don't do demos or a free chapter or w/e but HAVE A PLAN, your work is worth something
