I can't accept how damaged I am by infant foreskin amputation. After so many years, I'm still not able to be at any level of peace with what happened to me. The anatomical damage is very severe. I was cut to a CI-0 at birth and nearly my entire frenulum was removed. No anesthetic was used apparently. My parents admitted I was inconsolable for weeks, and they were pretty concerned at the time. I struggled with irrational terror and fear my entire childhood. What's crazy is that a large portion of medical professionals in the United States think that the foreskin of a young boy should be retractable when in reality the ability to retract happens through a natural separation process that begins around puberty. There is an epidemic of medical professionals encouraging forced retraction on young boys which actually can cause significant damage and particularly so if the foreskin is still tightly fused and the retraction extends far down.
