My new #Holocaust #mg #novel launch. Berlin, 1935. What was illegal is now legal, including brutality against Hitler's perceived "enemies." #Fascism is now all there is. Mia, her dad and her dog, Max, must try to survive in a world where #hate has been #unleashed. #antisemitism
Book Birthday! A STORM UNLEASHED is officially out in the world today. Thank you to @scholasticCDA
Mia and Max have grown up with love. Now all they can see and feel is hate. What is in store for them?

Was honoured to be asked to speak to these talented young writers. It was an inspiring evening.
We had an incredible evening at the Diverse Minds National Awards Ceremony in Winnipeg this week, celebrating this year’s remarkable finalists!
Congratulations to our winner, Elizabeth Piché! Her book The Missing Puzzle Piece Society is a heartfelt reminder to readers of all ages that true beauty and belonging are found when we embrace our differences.
A special thank you to Ben Mulroney for hosting, to Carol Matas, internationally acclaimed author, for joining us as keynote speaker, and to each of our talented finalists for using the power of storytelling to inspire inclusion, kindness, and empathy. Your words truly help make the world a better place.

🟥 @MarkJCarney has ALL the qualities of a great Canadian leader: Smart, tough, competent, knowledgeable … and at the same time kind, considerate and with a great sense of humour! ✅
You can tell a lot about an accomplished leader who is able to laugh with others even when HE is the subject of the joke! 🙂
For me, Prime Minister Carney is the leader we need right now, in SO MANY ways. 🇨🇦
Here’s the bit from “22 minutes” if you haven’t seen it yet. 👍🏼🎞️

These comments from my Conservative opponent in Winnipeg South Centre are sadly consistent with many of their candidates across the country, who not only reject the reality of climate change, but have failed to act, and have ignorantly conflated the issue by failing to distinguish the difference between climate and weather!
Climate change is real. We’ve taken action, and that will continue under a Liberal government.

One photo. It tells an entire story.
It started with hate. But it didn’t end there.
Today we remember the six million men, women and children murdered in the Holocaust.
We promise to never stop sharing their stories.

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. We must remember that it did not start from gas chambers.
This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.
Auschwitz took time.

ALT A bird's-eye view of a former Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp showing a wide dirt pathway flanked by parallel rows of barbed-wire fences. Groups of visitors walk along the path, surrounded by the remnants of brick structures and barracks, now reduced to foundations. Green grass contrasts with the somber history of the site, as the path leads toward a guard tower in the distance.
Amid an alarming global rise in antisemitism, it is more critical than ever for us to learn the
lessons of the Holocaust. This International #HolocaustRemembranceDay, I join the
@HolocaustMuseum in paying tribute to the victims and survivors.

Thanks to Donald Trump, we now must contemplate the possibility of a misogynist Christian Reconstructionist secretary of defense.
