I got nothing against D3 sports…I just won’t be supporting it at Hartford. @HartfordBASE played a big role in me becoming a big leaguer. I now understand why some athletes claim their high school instead of their college. Woodward is moving this school in the wrong direction
Summary in a nut shell. 🥜
Basically @UofHartford "President" Gregory S. Woodward to @HartfordHawks athletics when he moved us from D1 - D3.😂

Another alumni game➡️ another great day for the program. Thank you to all the former players for their continued support.
Since Woodard took over, 2 Hartford teams have been to the NCAA tournament. In the same timeframe enrollment has dropped every year he has been the President. Who is terrible?
UHart MBB coach John Gallagher took his team to the NCAA tournament in 2021. Then he got job offers.
He declined them all.
Even when DIII rumors started to swirl. Why? Bc he says a board member told him it wasn't going to happen. One month later it did.

Beast!!
Here we have Donnie Cohoon @DonnieCohoon a grad transfer from Hartford (the school that decided to switch to D3 for no apparent reason) he’s an outfielder who hit .340 with an OPS of 1.015 last season, real good ball player looking for a home next season xitter.cf/DonnieCohoon/status/15…

The first big league hit for David MacKinnon!

Two things. First, I don’t know anyone that is “ecstatic” about this move. Second, how do you hashtag “Hawks Rise” when you are literally moving down. 🤦♂️
🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨
We are ecstatic to announce that we will be joining @CCC_Sports as their 11th full-time member starting in 2023-24!

Let’s go!!
3B David MacKinnon is joining the #Angels on the taxi squad. He was hitting .327/.423/.633 with 13 homers in 56 games at Triple-A Salt Lake.
Beast!! @NickDombkowski7
Nick Dombkowski has been promoted to Altoona, his second promotion this year. He was a non-drafted free agent signing last year. This year has a 1.73 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 41 strikeouts in 26 innings for Bradenton/Greensboro #Pirates
JOHN SMASH!! Nothing will keep that beast down @john_thrasher22
Oh my goodness. @UKBaseball OF John Thrasher smashed his head against the wall trying to make a play and was motionless on the ground for a bit. Thankfully he’s now sitting up. That was scary.
Sharon is an embarrassment. An Athletic Director who threatens her own student-athletes instead of defending them or having their backs? This type of “leadership”doesn’t belong on any level no matter the division.
My column on the debacle at the University of Hartford is now up at WashingtonPost.com/sports. I'm sure steinberg will send a link. This is an important column because the threatening. notes sent by the AD (under orders from the presidents) are appalling.
