Security called me at 6:12 AM today.
"Patch every PHP server immediately."
I asked what happened.
"Two critical vulnerabilities. Remote code execution. No authentication required."
Cool.
How many PHP servers do we have?
According to inventory: 12
According to reality:
Nobody knows.
We found one running WordPress.
Three running old internal tools.
One under someone's desk.
Two inside vendor appliances.
A forgotten employee directory from 2016.
And a server named:
PHP-OLD-DO-NOT-TOUCH
Naturally, that one runs payroll exports.
Then we found a PHP 5.6 box.
I asked who owned it.
The documentation said:
BRIAN.
Brian left in 2019.
We called Brian.
He said:
"Oh wow, that's still running?"
Excellent.
By 8 AM, leadership joined the incident call.
CEO:
"Can hackers actually get in?"
Security:
"Potentially yes."
CEO:
"Without a password?"
Security:
"Yes."
CEO:
"Then why do WE need passwords?"
Not the lesson.
Finance asked if we could wait until the weekend to patch because downtime affects revenue.
Security explained that the alternative was letting strangers execute code on our servers.
Finance asked for a cost comparison.
At 9:17, someone suggested temporarily taking the vulnerable websites offline.
Marketing refused.
"Our campaign is live."
So for the next hour, the company officially decided maintaining a landing page for 20% off webinar registration was more important than preventing remote server takeover.
We finally patched everything we could find.
Then our scanner discovered another PHP server.
Hostname:
TEMP-PHP-2014
Uptime:
4,512 days.
Nobody knows what it does.
Nobody owns it.
Nobody can shut it down.
But every time we block network access, the warehouse stops printing shipping labels.
Security has classified it as critical infrastructure.
It is running PHP 5.4.
The vulnerability has existed longer than half our employees.
The emergency patch took four hours.
Finding out what PHP actually runs took eleven.
The internet isn't held together with code.
It's held together with servers everyone is afraid to turn off.
Awesome stuff made with @UnoPlatform!

An old touchscreen laptop, a secondhand Bluetooth scanner, and a cash register app I built in an afternoon with open-source @UnoPlatform and Uno MCPs. I turned them into her very own pretend-play market. Watching her play made my weekend ❤️

1/ Repl Toolkit 0.11 is out.
If you’re discovering it, the idea is simple: define one .NET command graph, then let people, scripts, and agents use it through a CLI, an interactive REPL, remote interactive REPL sessions, machine-friendly output, or MCP.
repl.yllibed.org/
5/ 0.11 adds result-flow paging for commands that return data progressively. It also fixes typed global-option DI binding and makes nullable-enum metadata more flexible.
Full release notes:

#dotnet #MCP
4/ Repl.Mcp also got a round of refinements: resource MIME types follow output converters, required prompt arguments are represented correctly, JSON prompt output is unwrapped, scoped help reveals `serve`, and the agent-host sample setup is clearer.
3/ Repl now cooperates more naturally with modern terminals.
Interactive mode emits OSC 133/633 shell-integration marks, and Repl.Spectre derives its console profile from host terminal detection.
Most users won’t need to configure anything differently.
2/ Autocomplete is more consistent while you type: option names, option values, and custom `WithCompletion` providers now line up more naturally in interactive mode.
Help output is cleaner too, with better global-option descriptions and less noise around defaults.
Another multi-months project now available for everybody :-) Enjoy. BTW, I did one of the samples, can you guess which one?

Just shipped paging for Repl Toolkit — one handler, three outputs:
→ terminal gets a nice keyboard-driven pager
→ --json gets a cursor
→ MCP gets _replCursor for free
Most CLI tools make you rerun with --page 2. Not this one.

Just shipped the documentation for Repl Toolkit, a .NET framework that turns one command graph into a CLI tool, an interactive REPL, and an MCP server for AI agents.
app.Map("user {id:int}", handler) and you're done.

Welcome to SkiaSharp 4.0 Preview 1! Thank you @mattleibow @UnoPlatform and all the contributors that made this happen. Read all about the release and partnership on our blog.

I just added MCP Apps Extensions to Repl Toolkit.
You can now turn your .NET code into AI tools (MCP) in minutes.
Same code → CLI, REPL, remote terminal, AI agents
No rewrites. No glue.
This changes how I build dev tools.

Agents can build cross-platform apps, but “it compiles” isn’t “it works.”
We gave agents what they were missing: eyes + hands at runtime.
They write code, launch the app, take screenshots, read the visual tree, click buttons, and verify outcomes.
All autonomously. You step in as you please.
That’s the fifth gate: closing the loop on behavior, not just compilation.
Let's honor jQuery & have a little fun.
I took a popular portfolio app written with jQuery:
nofun.io/
Recreated the home page UI in @UnoPlatform. 🚀
Different take on animations.
But includes the same physics:
Particle velocity + Smoke dispersion with collision.
AI + Uno MCP Tools - 20 minutes. 🔥
