you can’t say you want more storylines/ screentime for maddie while simultaneously saying you don’t want trauma for her like that’s not how it works. look at why buck is getting screentime or athena in the opener. that’s how people get focus. so stop saying no trauma for maddie
“it’s only ep4 how are you guys complaining” we haven’t even seen hen’s WIFE yet, let alone her kids, and madney’s kids… i think that’s fair to point out even at this stage of the season and how it indicates what the showrunner’s priorities are.
storyline idea where jee wants to help out more with the baby & maddie keeps declining and telling her to play or to just relax and chimney notices the pattern and asks her what’s going on and maddie breaks and tells him she doesn’t want her to ever feel like she’s nash’s parent
it gets me so angry when people say chimney had a captaincy arc last season because he literally had doubts in the opener of s9 and they were never addressed again before he accepted the job; after there were hints here and there about his insecurities but tim went with
a 70% buck focused half of season nine and he never got the attention he deserved and he never will. when we say that buck is taking too much time on air it doesn’t mean the characters have nothing; it means the characters aren’t getting the DEPTH they deserve.
we could have a conversation about how maddie grew up and how her parents and doug damaged her self confidence and self esteem and maybe remnants of that still exist, but would this show ever dig that deep?
it’s just annoying like jee has been there for five seasons now, denny has been there since the start, mara since s7 and those kids are getting absolutely nothing when there’s so much they could explore with them and that’s how you could focus on madney and henren as well
someone explain to me why buck can get a whole parenting storyline with theo but madney don’t get anything with jee… am i supposed to believe they are the perfect parents with the perfect child where nothing goes wrong ever
buck having more screentime being a bad thing is something a lot of people pointed out a long time back and finally some are starting to realize because the writers are just doing anything with him now instead of focusing on other characters
like i honestly think it’s not something to be proud of that the 911 writers are blatantly copying from ao3, and that’s why a certain duo is getting way more focus than others because fanfic is 99% buddie and it should not be affecting the show this way.
if an actor is reposting edits of your ship and supporting your interpretations you should just enjoy that, not make statements like “buddie is going canon for sure” because then you open it up to people hating on the actor(s) and that’s just not cool
maybe some people are criticizing buck more after the dependency arc but his screentime was an issue before that nor does that arc mean people can’t criticize his actions or his character. if you cannot stomach that then maybe block out the buck critical accounts and posts.
a relationship in which you cannot call out someone who may be doing something wrong, especially when it comes to parenting a traumatized four year old he CHOSE to foster, is not a healthy relationship. expecting maddie to blindly side with buck because he’s her brother is insane
sometimes i wonder how 911 has some characters who have healed from their traumas so well that their past barely gets brought up now and others whose traumas are constant explanations for their behavior/actions while never trying to heal. and those two characters are siblings :)
buck fans defending maddie turning down the promotion … fork found in kitchen lol. they’d never be good with that if it were buck. the writers could have written it differently. they could have had maddie realize she could do this with the right amt of help. personally,
