Interested in using DNA nanotech to control amyloid assembly and biology? @wfxue_lab and I have a postdoc position for you: jobs.kent.ac.uk/vacancy.aspx… Please RT @ChemPostdocBot #ukchemjobs
Check out the photo gallery from our recent trip to Vietnam: research.kent.ac.uk/uvcap/ga…
And that was the trip! Centella asiatica also makes excellent tea produced by our colleagues at Quảng Thọ facebook.com/traraumaquangth…
Day 3: visit to the cancer hospital in Hanoi to better understand the patient population and treatments. We were given really valuable insights into the situation and needs of cancer (and particularly liver cancer) in Vietnam.
Later that day - visiting Medipharco, a drug company in Hue, complete with factory tour. We're making sure the pipeline to clinical trials and production exists in Vietnam
Day 2: Hue province. Here's our field of organic Centella asiatica. Chatting with farmers about their experience and the head of the local commune about their future methods.
Bags of dried Centella asiatica arrived at the lab ready for extraction - they've got a very pleasant chocolatey smell.
Some photos from our trip! Here's our first in-person executive board meeting - some of these collaborators we've never had a chance to meet before. Lots of exploration of future possibilities

I've got two PhD positions open @KentSISC - using polymer sequence to overcome drug resistance in cancer (with @MartMichaelis , and developing polymeric materials for extraction of metals from seawater (with @HolderSimon and @ecomarprop) research.kent.ac.uk/serpell/…
Who are we, and what are we doing? Here's a short video to explain. youtube.com/watch?v=jjf7HfgG…
We received some really insightful comments and questions from our advisory board and other stakeholders (medics, pharma, farmers, chemists, biologists, social scientists) at our mid-project workshop. Lots of opportunities!
Lots of discussion in the Vietnamese section of today's workshop. The extra hour between the two parts is getting some good use!
