Today’s alcohol #DutyReceipts, which show receipts in January lower for spirits, wine & beer than in January 2025, will come as no surprise to UK wine & spirits businesses who continue to see consumers spending less as a result of some of the highest excise duty rates in Europe.

As highlighted by db this morning, the headline drop in overall inflation masks what has happened to alcohol in the last quarter...
