Important clarification: Entitled people believe simply leaning against a wall should reveal a door for them. High agency people learn that if they take the time and effort to build a door, then they can go through walls
It seems a common experience in the lives of people with high agency is that they, at some point, metaphorically, lean against a wall and discover that there is a hidden door. That some constraint they’ve been told about turns out not to hold, and this allows them to experience something positive. And from this they get into the habit of testing if walls are actually doors, and the more they do so, the more examples of hidden doors they find, and the more inclined they are to look for them. Far from the only thing that sets them apart, but having that experience can be transformative — Henrik Olof Karlsson

True.. The problem is “believing in meritocracy” isn’t really a choice. You need to first believe in your personal agency. And where does that come from?
the more you believe in meritocracy vs victimhood, the more the world works in your favor

This is the way
Founders: 'What time works for you?' costs more than you think. ❌ The ask: 6 messages, 2 days lost, prospect drifts. ✅ The spear: 'Held 30 min Thursday at 2pm — happy to move it.' One message, deal moving. They rarely ask to move it.

It costs $20 per month. I’d probably pay $20,000

Oh yes, I remember that Bond film where the villain decarbonized the auto industry, brought fast internet to everyone on the planet, and helped paralyzed people interact with the world again.

Lyft has secretly been displaying 5⭐️ for their worst drivers to see if riders rate them higher. Don’t fall for it.

Study finds lower tips on wknds. Their hypothesis is it’s bc they’re also going to movies and donating at church, without asking the question who’s more likely to go out for dinner on week days

All feedback I’ve ever gotten on decks & writing: 90% what to add 9% what’s confusing 1% what to remove Adding is easy. Cutting is hard, but so valuable

AI feedback is the exact same. 100% of the time I’ve asked ChatGPT for feedback on a written sample, it made it longer

This mirrors today's misunderstanding about Vitamin D and the sun. We know healthy people have higher levels of Vitamin D, but instead of recommending more sun, we recommend supplements. (5/6)

If we evolved with it over millions of years, it's probably pretty important for our health. (6/6)
