We are delighted to share the latest findings from the lab in Nature! We report mutation-dependent effects of sleep and exercise on clonal hematopoiesis (CH) and its associated atherosclerosis.

Check out our review on modeling the exposome in murine cardiovascular disease! We need to expand holistic whole organism models to study lifestyle and environmental impacts on health to identify evolutionarily selected inter-organ mechanisms that can be therapeutically harnessed

Of the major age-related diseases (cardiovascular, cancer, neurodegenerative) heart is the most preventable with lifestyle factors and medications.
It's about to become far more preventable!

Officially published @jclinicalinvest - Evolution of clonal hematopoiesis during cancer treatment and its impact on outcomes @MoffittNews
🚨 It's not just whether clonal hematopoiesis (CH) is present - it's how it evolves that matters.🚨

Excited to share our new study @ScienceMagazine by the fantastic Raphael Mattiuz and @jboumelha @SinaiImmunol showing how DC build and sustain tertiary lymphoid structures in cancer. A major step toward enhancing anti-tumor immunity (1/2) science.org/doi/10.1126/scie…

New online! Sleep and exercise can limit clonal haematopoiesis clone expansion and reduce associated atherosclerosis dlvr.it/TT97Xj
We are happy to share another paper from the lab! Led by Lena Gaebel, using unconditioned cell transplant and congenic tracking, we show that Tet2 or Jack2 clonal hematopoiesis do not modify murine tauopathy.

Delighted to contribute to this story now in @Nature led by T. Gerhardt & @cam_phd -
In humans & 🐭, exercise and 🛌 showed mutation-specific effects on clonal hematopoiesis, selectively reprogramming mutant cells toward less inflammatory states.

OUT NOW | PRESS RELEASE
In NEW STUDY, @IcahnMountSinai researchers Teresa Gerhardt, @cam_phd, et al. discovered that moderate-to-vigorous physical activity associated w/ reduced incidence of gene-specific CH & fewer mutant cells in blood. PRESS RELEASE👉 mountsinai.org/about/newsroo…

Blood stem cell mutation clones (CHIP) occur frequently with advanced age and portend risk of cardiovascular disease and cancer. A new report @Nature today tells us about suppression of CHIP by sleep health and exercise in the experimental model and people
Data below for exercise, seen in both women and men

Combining human cohort data with murine models harboring mutations in Jak2, Tet2, Tp53, and Dnmt3a, we find that sleep and exercise attenuate the clonal trajectories of Jak2 and Tet2 CH by selectively reprogramming mutant hematopoietic progenitor cells.

Please that @Neuro_Nada's paper in REV-ERBs is out today in @PNASNews. It shows that deletion of REV-ERB alpha & beta unmasks striking phenotypes.
