A few years ago some friends & I set out to host San Francisco's official #Diwali 🪔 celebration to @lacocinamarket to bring light to places that are all 2 often are overlooked
We must not relent till we lift up the chefs, entrepreneurs & merchants of @lacocinasf & the Tenderloin
My latest column: When it opened in 2021, La Cocina was hailed as a way to help save San Francisco's Tenderloin neighborhood. But the recipe never panned out -- and on Sept 1, its food stalls will close for good.

If you already chipped in tonight, I have one more ask. Can you help retweet this thread? We need even more people to know about the stakes of this election. This is *the* most important election of 2023, and we need to win. Thank you!
🚨 RED ALERT: A MAGA PAC just reserved $3.2 million in TV ads for the April 4 Wisconsin Supreme Court race.
For the next two weeks, GOP groups are outspending Dem groups on TV. This could spell disaster for 2024. Read on, retweet, and help fight back: secure.actblue.com/donate/re…

A) "Everyone will be exposed to Omicron"
B) "Everyone will get Omicron"
They're different. (A) promotes appropriate caution till surge ends: boost, N95, outdoor>indoor. (B) promotes counterproductive behavior as hospitals are overwhelmed.
Biggest difference: A is true. B is not.

My latest tweets have mostly been bad news, which saddens me, particularly during holiday season.
Today I’ll take you to my Happy Place, with some thoughts on why we could be in good shape – and maybe even great shape – in 6-8 weeks.

SFC really needs some help right now. We need to open for Late Night business ASAP. This requires a big upgrade to the front in order to SAFELY stay open. We need to install an ordering window, heavy gate, new door, and increase staffing. Anything helps, even a RT.
THANK YOU ALL!
We Want & Need To Stay Open Later Every Night.

Marked by the lighting of the Diya 🔥Diwali is a reminder that we are better off together than divided. And if we live in service of others, compassion & light will triumph over despair.

There are so many misconceptions about the homelessness crisis that don’t align with what the data shows us. This only builds stigma and detracts from finding solutions. So we want to briefly address some of those inaccuracies here on “Myths & Misconceptions Mondays". ⬇️ (1/4)

Nice people, great food, relaxing atmosphere. And now with tables and chairs outside and two entrances. If you haven’t been to @lacocinamarket yet, you’re missing out! (Also can confirm the ceviche tostada makes a good, inexpensive mid-afternoon snack.) #TotalSF
The recall efforts, so quick on the heels of the actual election themselves, so full of money that could otherwise be directed at meaningful impact and so absent legitimate policy visions are a collective waste. We should all be so troubled…
In California, these recalls heavily influenced by Republicans have become an extension of voter suppression. But that’s only one part of a troubling narrative…
