It’s been a week!
Thanks for the incredibly warm welcome, @seattletimes crew. 🥰 🗞️
💫 Some personal news 💫
Overjoyed to report I'm moving to the @seattletimes newsroom, where I'll work afternoons, evenings and weekends as an assistant metro editor. 😎
Once again, I'll be in my natural habitat on the breaking news beat. 🌲 🗞️ 🌲
Forever grateful for all the support, advice and long over-caffeinated conversations in the past few (difficult!) weeks. ☕️ 🥰
While I have your attention, please check out the work of these ex-@EverettHerald journalists who also lost their jobs this summer due to devastating layoffs.
Please support them! And if you're lucky enough to hire any one of them, you won't regret it. xitter.cf/snocaleb/status/181913…
Replying to @calebatsea

This thread, over and over. It’s everything and then some that I’m feeling about these layoffs affecting my friends and former community
About a dozen members of the @EverettHerald news staff are wrapping up their final shift today, in light of cuts mandated by new owners Carpenter Media Group.

I'll miss @reporterbrown's column so much. She's a pitch perfect writer who has a knack for finding the delightfully weird pockets of everyday life. "What's up with that" is a reminder that newspapers should be fun to read, as well as informative. heraldnet.com/news/columnist…

Don't have much to add on the Herald layoffs other than this whole process made me deeply sad. Communities need people who care about it to cover its news well & this is a group of people who cared.
