The Pelicans trading Anthony Davis the same week they make another #1 selection highlights the bleakness of staking your hopes in a top draft pick. In the last 30 years, only #1 pick delivered a title to the team that drafted him: Tim Duncan. #NBADraft
You can argue Lebron James and Kyrie Irving belong on this list. But Lebron only brought a title to Cleveland after returning from Miami. Irving was never going to deliver a title without Lebron. That’s still only three #1 overall picks in 30 years. #NBADraft
The adage is proving frustratingly true that my game gets better when I remove the parts that ultimately distract from the core fun of the game.

Playing Pandemic last night, we got pummeled in I think our 7th turn. Did we set the record for ineptitude?
Another playtest of Acre-foot at work. Partway through my introduction a poor coworker realized I said "45 minute" not "4-to-5 minute" game.
This year I could only attend #saltcon for one evening. Still, the interactions with old friends and new acquaintances was my favorite part.

Second run at some cards for Pangaea. The old cards no longer matched game play. Plus, I added a few new actions. #boardgamedesign
Ran another playtest of Pangaea at work. Got some good ideas about limiting tiles and changing the end game condition. #boardgamedesign
I enjoyed #igd at the West Jordan Library today. Took my oldest son with me. Recruited a player to try Acre-foot and then learned Camel Up.
