A couple of days ago I release ipytest 0.11.0. It allows to run pytest inside jupyter nobteooks. The release features %%ipytest as the new single entrypoint, colors per default (thanks to @the_compiler) and shorter line lengths. github.com/chmp/ipytest

Fun use of custom elements: embed React components into HTML and use @htmx_org to update their state. Here the regular DOM reflects the application state and the shadow DOM contains the rendered React component. For a summary, see here: cprohm.de/blog/htmx-react/

While writing a WebAssembly based plugin system in Rust, I found the wasm-bindgen generated code to be a great reference. You can find a step by step tutorial that strips the wasm-bindgen generated wrapper to its bare essentials here: github.com/chmp/wasm_tutoria…

an important point! technologies should be incremental: easy to try out and remove where they aren't working well beware the technology that promises you paradise if only you will rewrite everything!
Replying to @htmx_org
IMO the best part about this combo is you aren't forced to go "all in". You can literally drop a CDN tag onto a single template, spice up a specific interaction, and rip it out later if you want to!

I just released ipytest 0.12.0. It re-adds the "raise_on_error" config option. After setting it "True", failed tests will raise an exception. This behavior may be helpful if ipytest is used in CI/CD jobs. github.com/chmp/ipytest/rele…

For my experiments, I wrote cargo-wop, a tool to use cargo with single #Rustlang files. As an introduction, I summarized how to use Wasmer to execute a WASM module without setting up a single rust project here: cprohm.de/blog/cargo-wop/

At the moment, I find myself writing a lot of code in Rust. I summarized how I got started with it on my blog: cprohm.de/blog/rust-journey/

Gotta admit, I'm a bit dissapointed that "CONSTANT as NAME" still binds "CONSTANT" with Python's new pattern matching syntax. I already planned on using "CONSTANT as _" as a workaround. (That "_" is not valid variable name is this context is an additional issue)
From time to time, I find myself linearizing task graphs and always need a bit to figure out how. I summarized a simple method here: cprohm.de/blog/graph-lineari…

Really interesting overview how my former colleagues at @BlueYonderTech are using dask for data processing. Brings back fond memories.

Do you use @pandas_dev with string columns? Do you have code posted publicly that is not as fast as you would like? Please share! We will make strings faster in @pandas_dev soon but it would be nice to have real world benchmarks alongside that work.
