I’ve been finding the Hintermann distractor (arrow) so useful that I now have it in my permanent tray. With 2.0 K-wires it’s pretty powerful. Here it is being used to see the joint in a calcaneus, but I’ve used it in pilons with great success (in intact tibia and talus.
