For the longest time I refused both using 3D models or heavy references because it felt like cheating but the only thing it led to was me getting extremely frustrated with my art having the same 3 poses and angels or spending 5 hours making grids, trace that 3D model I beg you 😭

There's also this notion of 3d model cuts out all the hard work for you but in reality if you don't have a basic grasp of anatomy and environments the tracing is gonna look like crap 😭
