Very deserving - though, unavoidably, some with important contributions could not be included.
BREAKING NEWS The 2026 #NobelPrize in Physiology or Medicine has been awarded to Karl Deisseroth, Peter Hegemann and Georg Nagel “for their discoveries concerning light-gated ion channels and optogenetics.”

Great. The heat dome is centered on Tennessee.
A powerful heat dome — which will become the strongest on the planet Wednesday — will tower 3.7 miles above Tennessee, drawing extreme heat and humidity into the central U.S. “I don’t even know what to say anymore,” meteorologist Pete Delkus said. wapo.st/4jaYqKK

Honored to be named the runner-up for the Science & PINS Prize for Neuromodulation, with my essay now published by @ScienceMagazine. science.org/doi/10.1126/scie… The essay lays out how mapping the brain's functional circuits lets us move brain stim. from deep toward the brain surface.

hello there the jacobian conjecture is false thanx to my close friend akhil for asking about it and my other close friend fable for working during the world cup final ((1+xy)^3 z + y^2 (1+xy) (4+3xy), y + 3 x (1+xy)^2 z + 3 x y^2 (4+3xy), 2 x - 3 x^2 y - x^3 z): \C^3\to \C^3, has jacobian determinant -2, and sends (0, 0, -1/4), (1, -3/2, 13/2), and (-1, 3/2, 13/2) to (-1/4, 0, 0)

The 1st ever preprint from the Tang Lab! 🥳 Our results show that, after overlearning, value processing shifts from the ventral striatum to the orbitofrontal cortex, moving from stimulus value to abstract state value representations. doi.org/10.64898/2026.06.24.… @biorxiv_neursci

Excited to share this from my lab. Aging brains are an untapped resource for the AI community: biology has been stress-testing neural circuits since time began. What breaks, what holds & why? The answers could reshape how we build robust AI. 🧠
The #AI field is obsessed with making neural networks more efficient and robust. Biology ran this experiment over millions of years & we call it aging. A new perspective paper argues that aging brains, far from being just a story of decline, are a powerful testbed for theories of neural computation. How does a decision-making circuit stay flexible when its biological substrate is changing? Answering that question matters for longevity science, AI robustness, & understanding what makes brains so different from the networks we build. The tools are finally ready. 🧠 sciencedirect.com/science/ar…

🧵 Thrilled to share our new paper, just out in @NatureComms! 🎉 BTSP is known to rapidly form place cellsin hippocampal CA1 via plateau potentials. Here, we found that BTSP isn't just for spatial maps. It works for non-spatial information too! 🧠⬇️ 📄doi.org/10.1038/s41467-026-7…
