It’s coming…it will be an amazing future.
It's still weird to me to watch SWEs go though this in real time knowing that MechEs driving CAD/CAM/CAE will be next, soon behind.
There's something about getting lost in CAD in the flow-state of designing something by hand like a sculptor that is precious to me and essential to who I am.
I'm thankful to at least have these warnings to understand what is coming and to mentally prepare myself.
I know that on the other side is an awesome future of must faster creation with better outcomes, but it's hard to shake the feeling that a part of who I am will be dying in that transition.
SEMPER AD MELIORA!

One of the best pieces of investment advice I’ve ever received is simple: learn to withstand short-term pain for long-term gain.
Some of the best investments I’ve made required patience, conviction, and the ability to stay with a thesis when it wasn’t popular.
You have to manage your own emotions, trust your process, and give great ideas enough time to compound.
That long-term mindset has shaped the way I invest more than anything else.
Such a great way to think about longitudinal progression in science, engineering, technology.
The past was beautiful. Analog. Artistic. And then to be at exact moment when switch happened. And the future is creative. Exciting. Expansive.
Passed on investing in a company today because we felt we couldn’t be of great help to them in their sector.
We could pretend. And maybe we would help a bit. But they deserve better than that. And we have enough humility as a team to accept that.
Wish more VCs did that.
Silicon Valley weirdness doesn’t stop in SV.

Excited to introduce @Cosign: the curated professional network for the startup community: cosign.co
Our goal is to create the following:
- A comprehensive startup directory of investors, companies, and operators, including what they worked on and who they worked on it with.
- Cosign graph: Who shaped your career? Who were you actually in the trenches with? Who would work with you again? Who thinks you’re someone to watch?
- Durable reputation: Great endorsements happen every day on X and disappear into the feed. Cosign attaches those signals permanently to people and companies.
- Discovery: Who are the best fintech angels? Which AI companies should I watch? Who are the best designers?
- Intent network: Privately signal “I’d invest in them,” “I’d hire them,” “I’d work with them,” or eventually even “I’d acquire this company.” Match people when interest exists on both sides.
Imagine if Wikipedia, LinkedIn, and OG AngelList had a baby. Though Cosign is a community, not a business.
In order to join, you need to be cosigned. Or you can apply directly.
David Booth and I started this idea 7 years ago but didn’t have the firepower to make it work. Now we do.
No one has really touched LinkedIn in 20 years. Excited to take a swing.

Most VCs have a team meeting on Mondays to discuss priorities for the upcoming week. We do that at @redglassvc.
But we also huddle every Friday to discuss priorities for the weekend :-)

the new IFR report is out, so I prepared some insights to present the state of robotics in 2025:
→ 5M robots at work. The global operating stock rose 9% to a record 5 million, more than double the count 7 years ago.
→ Record installations. More than 600,000 new robots were installed in 2025, up 11% year over year.
→ China installed more than the rest of the world combined. It added 354,000 units (+20%), which is 59% of all global installs.
→ Chinese vendors lost some share at home. They sold 195,000 units (+15%), but their domestic share dipped from 57% to 55% because the market grew faster than they did.
→ The US is now #2. Installs rose 12% to about 38,500, overtaking Japan, which fell 19% to 36,219.
→ India is scaling fast. About 10,500 units (+15%) and a 27% CAGR since 2020 put it at #6 worldwide.
→ Brazil was the surprise of the year. Installs rose 38%, and automotive installs jumped 212%, driven by Chinese carmakers building plants there.
→ Mexico keeps shrinking. Installs fell 7% to under 5,200, the third straight year of decline despite the nearshoring hype.
→ Europe is stalling. Germany fell 8%, Italy 11%, France 8% and Spain 15%. Germany still accounts for 41% of EU installs.
what's your biggest surprise?
33 incredible women leaders reaching tremendous heights in their careers, and now sharing wisdom with the next generation.
Proud to be in the company of author Kamini Ramani, and several women profiled in the book.
And great to see @NavinChaddha lift up everyone in the community.
