BREAKING: @Solana’s Transaction V1 is live on mainnet, increasing the maximum transaction size 3.3x to 4,096 bytes.
ZK proofs, large multisigs, and confidential transfers can now be completed in one transaction.

Season 2 of Solana Audit Arena starts now.
Week 1's target is x402-Meridian, a Solana settlement layer for the x402 agentic payment protocol, and the thing that makes it interesting is what it lets an agent get away with, because it is built so an agentic buyer holding nothing but an EVM wallet can pay a seller that only exists on Solana, without ever touching a Solana keypair, signing a Solana transaction, or paying gas on either chain.
It is two Anchor programs working together, a permit2 program modeled on Uniswap's Permit2 that custodies SPL tokens in a vault owned by an Ethereum address and only releases them against a valid secp256k1 signature, and an x402 settlement gateway that a seller's facilitator calls to redeem that signature on-chain. The buyer produces one off-chain ECDSA signature and nothing else, the facilitator submits the only Solana transaction that exists in the flow, and the entire security model rests on the signature verification, the witness binding, the unordered nonce bitmap, and the PDA authority that sits between the two programs actually holding up under pressure.
Thanks to @Al_Qa_qa on the design of the challenge.
Your job is to find where it doesn't.
Same format as always, one week on the clock, submit each finding as its own GitHub Issue, and I read and judge every single submission myself.
And a note on why this season matters beyond the points, because agentic payments are going to be everywhere in a couple of years and almost nobody has audited this class of code yet, which means the researchers who get good at it now are going to be the ones people come looking for later. If you are one of the people who consistently finds the real issues instead of noise, I am looking to bring someone on full time as a security researcher this season, so treat this as both a competition and an open application.

V1 transactions are coming, raising the maximum transaction size from 1232 to 4096 bytes.
Here's what you need to know 👇
V1 Transactions are coming to @solana and they are really cool! They will go live in a couple of weeks.
Max transaction size goes from 1,232 → 4,096 bytes. Compute budgeting moves out of instructions and into the transaction itself.
There are a few small breaking changes you need to be aware, and you can start testing locally today. 🧵

JUST IN: $JitoSOL holders have reached the required governance quorum, triggering the Jito Stake Pool’s roughly 10 million $SOL to vote YES on all three active @Solana Governance Proposals.
The move brings JitoSOL holders into Solana protocol governance, giving liquid staking token holders a say in how the underlying stake is voted.

📈Report: @Solana has surpassed major CEXs, including @Bybit_Official, @coinbase, and @krakenfx, in weekly DEX spot trading volume for the 6th consecutive week, ranking second only to Binance.

News: @Solana’s proposed new governance framework, “The Solana Constitution,” has cleared the 15% validator support threshold and has entered the discussion phase.
Authored by @DrNickA, SGP-0001 would:
👉Let routine SIMDs proceed without a network vote by default
👉Allow major or contentious proposals to be escalated to a network wide, stake weighted vote
👉Introduce delegator sovereignty, allowing $SOL stakers to override their validator's governance vote.

This month is huge for Solana
It's getting even more...
• Faster: 200ms slots, live on testnet
• Cheaper: 90% rent cut, week of Aug 17
• Bigger: 3.3x transaction size, same release
• Rarer: burns scale from 650 to 9,000 SOL a day
And inflation hits its 1.5% floor in 2.8 years instead of 5.7
Both tokenomics votes passed round one, discussion phase now

The first slot time reduction feature is now live on Solana testnet.
SIMD-0525 is active on testnet, reducing slot time from 400ms to 350ms as the first of four feature-gated steps toward 200ms slot time.
Nice breakdown!
solana:So11111111111111111111111111111111111111112 just posted the biggest month in its history! 🚀
Here is what happened in July...
Network:
🔸 4.24B transactions, an all-time monthly record, up 12% MoM and 20% YoY.
🔸 Weekly non-vote transactions crossed 1B for the first time.
🔸 Mainnet passed epoch 1,000. Six years running, no hard fork, no rollback.
🔸 SIMD-0286 raised the block compute limit from 60M to 100M units, a 66% increase in blockspace.
Then the part almost nobody reported.
Network revenue rose 34% MoM, the first monthly increase since January and the highest level since March. Fees rose 37%. One month off a low base, but the first sign of monetization turning since the drawdown began.
Institutions:
🔸 Morgan Stanley launched $MSOL, a staking-enabled Solana ETP at 0.14%, the lowest fee in the category.
🔸 E*TRADE opened spot solana:So11111111111111111111111111111111111111112 trading to 8.6 million clients, the first major US bank to do it.
🔸 S&P Dow Jones and Pantera placed solana:So11111111111111111111111111111111111111112 in the top five of a new index built on blockchain revenue. $BTC and $XRP did not qualify.
🔸 SBI Holdings and the Solana Foundation launched SBI Solana Global to build Japan's onchain market.
Assets on the network:
🔸 Stablecoin supply closed at a record $16.5B, up 38% YoY.
🔸 Stablecoins ex. $USDC & $USDT hit a record $5B, roughly a third of the total. $USDG alone passed $1B
🔸 solana:So11111111111111111111111111111111111111112 passed 300,000 real-world asset holders, more than any chain.
🔸 Mubadala Capital tokenized a $75M alternatives fund on Solana, with Coinbase taking a balance sheet stake.
Tokenized stocks is the one place Solana lost ground:
🔸 Volume fell to $1.73B, and share went from 70% in June to 19% in July.
🔸 BNB Chain rose 210% to $5.35B, and Robinhood went from $12.8M to $1.18B
🔸 Even so, tokenized equity value on solana:So11111111111111111111111111111111111111112 set an all-time high of $378M
Worth being honest about the shape of that. Solana's June was itself a spike, 4.5x May on the back of the SpaceX listing, and it snapped back. July's leaders posted jumps of the same character.
The real question? Can BNB Chain and Robinhood Chain hold those levels for a second and a third month? Year to date, Solana still settles ~40% of all tokenized stock volume.
Notwithstanding all the favorable developments, solana:So11111111111111111111111111111111111111112 closed July down 1.1%, its tenth consecutive red month.
Meanwhile, solana:So11111111111111111111111111111111111111112 continues to scale, lead on innovation, and attract demand, despite underwhelming price performance.
Don't expect this divergence to persist...
