Quick point of order: can we agree to stop using the r slur when criticizing the Trump/Musk administration? It minimizes people with developmental disabilities and being cruel to the undeserving is really MAGA's jam.

I was very surprised to learn that our vice president has spoken on the phone with Putin. That is very uncharacteristic of Putin to have a call with any US government official besides the president. Are there any readouts of these calls?
Vance: "I've never met Putin in person. I've spoken to him on the phone. He was calmer than you might expect. The American media has a stereotype of him. He's very deliberate and measured in his words. I think, at his core, he's someone who cares about Russia's interests as he sees them. One reason he respects the President is that he recognizes the President cares about the interests of the American people."

Totally shocked to find Trump is the amoral obedient puppet of an evil dictator; 10 years after we already found that out.
Beyond irresponsible. What part of enforcing a law passed 86-11 by the Senate does the President and his advisors not understand? It’s unconscionable that this administration is capitulating to a Russian dictator who illegally invaded Ukraine and butchers innocent civilians every single day. If the President wants to actually bring down energy prices, he can do it by solving the Iran problem, not by doing a solid for Vladimir Putin. apnews.com/article/russia-sa…

Potentially the most pathetic statement ever released by a U.S. President. Forever a moral stain on this nation. Let’s vote anyone that has ever enabled him and his insanity the fuck out of office.
Trump: My decision on Russia is a very simple one. I don't want to do anything that will drive, foolishly, Russia away from the bargaining table. Russia is doing very little, if anything, to help the Islamic Republic of Iran, compared to what they could be doing. Zelenskyy is using Diesel Refineries in Russia as a target, knowing that these attacks are seriously hurting the world diesel markets, including those in the United States. Farmers, ranchers, and businesses of all kinds are suffering greatly from this, but Russia is, nevertheless, sending, at a low price, millions of barrels of diesel to the World. Zelenskyy doesn't care, and frankly, with all of the money that Europe is famously giving him, and that Crooked Joe Biden gave him in the past, he doesn't want to end this war, and probably never did. He could have made a better deal two years ago than he can now. His country is in shambles, a large portion of his land is lost, his oceans and seas are gone, and his male population is low, wounded, and/or dead. I WANT THIS WAR END!

Absolutely despicable. Everything is a transaction with Trump. He does nothing unless it’s good for him. He is corrupt and cruel. They are fighting for their survival.

He lied and said that immigrants were eating pets
Vance: My goal here is not to dehumanize immigrants. In fact, I love a number of immigrants. My goal here is to make it so we have a baseline of social cohesion. When too many people come to the United States, it changes the country in a bad way.

🇺🇦 Zelenskyy delivers a blunt message to the United States: “Just give us Starlink back. If you refuse, Ukraine will survive. We will continue defending ourselves with or without it. But why would you restrict a country fighting for its survival? Why make it harder for us to defend our people? I simply cannot understand the reasoning behind this decision. It is a mistake.” Ukraine isn’t asking America to fight its war. It’s asking America not to stand in the way of its defense.

Another Russian ballistic missile attack came in several waves overnight, and once again, there was no early warning from our partners. They again targeted energy facilities and infrastructure, but a medical clinic, a school, a metro station, and ordinary residential buildings were also damaged. In total, the Russians launched 16 ballistic missiles in a deliberate attack on Kyiv and the Kyiv region. The Russians also launched more than 200 drones of various types, including jet-powered “shaheds,” with attacks spanning from the Kharkiv and Dnipro regions to the Volyn, Rivne, and Odesa regions. Sadly, there are casualties. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Those who were injured are receiving assistance. Overnight and this morning, Russia attacked energy facilities in the Vinnytsia, Volyn, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Kharkiv, Ternopil, Odesa, and Rivne regions. In this one night alone, more than 10 energy infrastructure facilities were damaged, and the lights went out for at least 550,000 families. Repair crews are working at the sites. Ukraine never wanted this war, and we have welcomed literally EVERY attempt by our partners to bring this war to a dignified end. We have responded positively to EVERY ceasefire proposal. Russia's response, time and again, has been ballistic missiles, “shaheds,” and killings. Putin not only doesn't want to end this war – he doesn't even want to take any steps toward de-escalation. EVERY ONE of our partners has experienced this firsthand when they heard Russia's refusals. And it is crucial to call things what they are. To call the aggressor an aggressor and help Ukraine defend lives. When deliveries of missiles for Ukraine's air defense are blocked while Russia is granted relief or delays in sanctions, this is, unfortunately, a denial of reality on the part of our partners. The reality is that the war continues, and it continues solely because of Russian strikes and Russia's desire to drag this war out. I thank everyone who recognizes this reality and helps Ukraine!

I don't think he's being duped. He's completely aligned with Putin and together they plan on getting ridiculously wealthy and will be counting money while standing on the graves of innocent Ukrainians. He needs to be removed. Even if he were being duped that would suggest presidential malpractice deserving of dismissal. Sir, these posts of his and his hostility to the national interests of the United States of America and the free world have become a form of abuse. It's been eleven years and we've had enough of this crazy-ass nonsense that's really wearing us down. He does not represent Respectable America. He doesn't function as a president and probably doesn't even know what an actual president is responsible for. He occupies the White House giving out weird and arbitrary directives as though America were a crime family, and he was the mob boss. Sir, it's time. Please, in the name of all that's holy. This presidency must end. He has to go. He has to go now.

I'd be surprised by the unprincipled spinelessness here, but these guys refused to convict Trump even after he sent a mob to the Capitol to attack them. I've yet to see an ethical, moral, or self-respect line they won't cross to avoid a primary challenge.
WELKER: You urged Congress to pass this law in Sen. Graham's memory. Do you agree with President Trump's decision to lift sanctions on Russia? LANKFORD: He is choosing the American people first is what he's doing

I was a GOP voter for my entire adult life until 2016, and right now every single one of them makes me feel vomitous. They are smarmy liars, cheats, manipulators, and frauds. And considering what their capitulation to Trump has now led to-they’re traitors. They disgust me.
Mike Johnson: "You have to keep the grownups in charge, steady hands at the wheel. That's why Republicans HAVE to keep control of Congress."

Bill, a U.S. citizen was reportedly struck by a federal vehicle, tased twice, and left handcuffed in the street screaming that his arm was broken. And your response is that these things wouldn't happen if people just complied? That's quite a legal philosophy you've developed. Apparently, federal agents are entitled to a presumption of innocence, while the people they injure are presumed to have deserved it. And since you apparently skipped that lecture in law school, documenting police activity is protected by the First Amendment. Criticizing government misconduct is not obstruction of justice. Neither is a member of Congress demanding accountability. Actual interference with law enforcement is a different matter. You might appreciate that distinction if you weren't so busy treating criticism as a criminal offense. You're a United States Attorney, Bill. Your job is to uphold the law, not provide public relations services for people accused of violating it. "He should have complied" isn't an investigation. It's an excuse. And a badge isn't a constitutional exemption from accountability.
You’re a sitting member of Congress and you’re encouraging people to obstruct immigration agents enforcing laws enacted by Congress? Shame on you. These incidents would be less common if the targets complied with lawful commands. You’re intentionally fanning the flames and increasing danger for the community and officers. I’m proud of the men and women of law enforcement who risk their lives every day to keep us safe. We will not hesitate to arrest and prosecute anyone who assaults them. 🇺🇸

Please remember that Marco Rubio is not only Secretary of State; he is also Trump's National Security Advisor. He owns every one of these decisions and is just as morally bankrupt as Trump is. Stop pretending otherwise.

In 1938, Britain and France pressured Czechoslovakia to surrender the Sudetenland to Hitler in exchange for peace. Chamberlain declared “peace for our time.” 6 months later, Hitler occupied Prague. 6 months after that, he invaded Poland. That's what peace at any cost can buy you.
President Trump wants to bring peace to the world and drive energy prices down. He works every single day on that.

An American president would tell Putin to fuck off. An American president would tell Putin to get the fuck out of Ukraine. An American president would stand with Ukraine. Trump however is not an American president. He works for Putin. So he’ll do what Putin tells him to do.👇

This is what treachery looks like. Donald Trump openly siding with Putin while attacking allies. Treason-adjacent behavior. Trump doesn't care about peace. His motives are to stave off potentially disastrous Republican losses in the midterm elections and avoid facing a Democratic-controlled Congress that might actually offer real opposition and investigate him and his associates. I suspect his other motives are pecuniary. His administration's negotiations with Russia have already included a proposed multibillion-dollar Lukoil deal involving investors with business ties to his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and Steve Witkoff's family. There have also been discussions of broader commercial cooperation with Russia. At no point in these remarks does Trump mention wanting to constrain Putin or prevent further deaths in Ukraine, choosing instead to attack Zelenskyy. Historians will remember Trump as one of the three worst presidents in U.S. history, possibly vying for last place with James Buchanan, whose inaction during the secession crisis helped pave the way for the Civil War.
