Google Maps changed its URL from "https://maps [dot] google [dot] com" to "https://google [dot] com/maps". Looks like it's not a big deal, but when you grant the location permission in your browser you now grant it to the whole #google [dot] com domain. 🤨 #privacy #googlemaps

NEW VIDEO! In the the mid-80s, the Belgian city of Charleroi started building a metro line. But with half the stations completed, and the track already in place, construction stopped. The line never opened. What happened? And how much is still there? youtu.be/QeMJBqU_eYc
YES. I think about this literally every day as I laboriously customize the cookie consents on almost every site I visit. Thanks for summing up this issue so well @thenicatmanafov. uxdesign.cc/unethical-design… #ux #uxdesign.

Why can't I drag a folder from Finder to a "Save" or "Open" dialog in MacOS Monterey any longer? Instead of switching to that folder in the dialog, now the dragged folder is moved to that location... //cc @AppleSupport
A company that is famous for selling JPEGs of Bored Apes on the internet raised $320 million this weekend by selling 55,000 parcels of virtual land in their metaverse & people paid with a currency called ApeCoin. That legitimately would have sounded insane just a few years ago.

New Belgian data retention law would make the best-by-far (as recognized by experts) private messaging app @signalapp illegal, making Belgium 5th member in a cozy club with Iran, China, Cuba, and Uzbekistan. Please reconsider, @VincentVQ. standaard.be/cnt/dmf20220429…
