Orwell was a genius
Animal Farm by George Orwell, in short:
1. Old Major, the fattest pig on the farm, delivers a sermon about "liberation." He has never missed a meal in his life – but he is the most envious of the Man – the producer, the entrepreneur…
2. “Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy” – the ideology is manufactured from the start, designed not to free the animals but to direct their resentment away from the pigs and toward a useful target. Every revolution needs an enemy. The pigs chose the farmer.
3. The revolution’s commandments were never a constitution. They were a management tool – sacred enough to motivate, vague enough to rewrite, and controlled from the beginning by the only ones who could read – the pigs.
4. Boxer the horse, the most honest creature on the farm, decent, loyal yet naive, totally devoted, responds to every setback with the same answer: “I will work harder!” He means it completely. He works himself half to death. It is the most heartbreaking sentence in the book – because the new system is perfectly designed to absorb exactly that kind of devotion and give nothing back.
When he finally collapses from exhaustion, he is sold to the knacker. For cash. The pigs buy more whisky with the proceeds.
The other animals are told he died in a hospital receiving the best care. The most useful animal on the farm is the one who never once suspects he is the product.
5. The commandments get rewritten at night not because power corrupted the revolution – the rewriting was always the plan. Language was the weapon from the first speech Old Major ever gave.
6. “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others” – this is not the system’s failure. It is the system’s true face, finally visible once the animals are too exhausted and confused to object.
7. Orwell’s message: the lie came first. And the "liberation" it promised delivered something far worse than what came before – because the fattest pig was merely selfish at the start, but by the end is selfish and fluent in the language of "justice." He took all the eggs. He took everything. And made the hens thank him for it.
The fattest pig knew what he was doing all along…
It’s total bullshit!

Hi friends! My name is Buccee. 🩵
I was scheduled to be euthanized on 6/17 for medical reasons at Dallas Animal Services after I was hit by a car while out on a walk with my shelter foster. But then something amazing happened... Mazie’s Mission stepped in and saved me!
Right now, I need some time to rest and heal. I'm focusing on getting stronger every day, and I'll be sure to let everyone know when I'm ready to start looking for my forever family.
Thank you to everyone who believed in me and helped give me a second chance. 🐾💙

❤️ Foster Needed for Waffles ❤️
This sweet 2-year-old Corgi/Terrier mix weighs about 30 pounds and has an incredibly gentle, loving personality. He’s affectionate, people‑oriented, and just wants to be close to someone who will give him a chance.
He already knows how to sit, walks nicely on a leash, and appears to be potty trained. He’s food motivated, eager to learn, and truly wants to be a good dog. Everything about him says he’s ready for a real home.
He needs:
• A foster home
• OR a foster‑to‑adopt home ready to give him a real chance
Hill County Animal Rescue will support the foster, they just need someone to say yes for him.

🚨 URGENT: Dr. Doofenshmirtz needs help now.
This sweet boy has already been through so much. He was found abandoned and chained to the back porch of a house, standing in water and surrounded by trash after his owners moved away and left him behind.
Despite everything he has endured, Dr. Doofenshmirtz has remained incredibly loving, social, and full of joy. He adores people and absolutely loves other dogs. He has even been the shelter’s go to dog tester because he gets along with every dog he meets.
He truly is a social butterfly with a heart of gold.
Now Dr. Doofenshmirtz is on the urgent list with a deadline of June 16, 2026 at 2:00 PM, and he is running out of time. He desperately needs a foster or adopter to give him the second chance he deserves.
Please help save this amazing boy by fostering, adopting, or sharing his story. His future depends on it. ❤️🐾

🚨 URGENT: LEE NEEDS OUT NOW
Lee can be pulled at any moment, and time is running out for this deserving boy.
Shelter life is incredibly hard on Lee. While some dogs adjust to the constant noise, chaos, and uncertainty, Lee is struggling. He's overwhelmed, scared, and shut down. Because of that, the dog people see in his kennel isn't the real Lee.
Yesterday, volunteers took their time earning his trust and getting a leash on him. Once outside, the change was almost immediate. The moment Lee felt the sunshine and fresh air, his entire demeanor transformed. His tail wagged nonstop, he trotted happily to the play yard, and for the first time, we saw the sweet, joyful dog hidden beneath all that fear. 🥹
Lee isn't a bad dog. He's a scared dog.

Karen Bass, Cuba, and espionage:
Per Grok, in the 1970s (starting around age 19–20), Bass participated in and helped organize trips with the Venceremos Brigade, a leftist group that sent Americans to Cuba for solidarity work, construction, and exposure to the Cuban Revolution. She has described it as being about building U.S.-Cuba relations and studying their healthcare system. She was noted as a leader in Southern California efforts in the mid-1970s.
• The Brigade had ideological overlaps with radical left movements of the era (including some Weather Underground ties early on) and Cuba, which supported various revolutionary causes.
U.S. authorities (FBI, Congress, Senate Internal Security Subcommittee) extensively investigated the Brigade due to its ties to Cuba’s Dirección General de Inteligencia (DGI):
• Propaganda and recruitment: Brigades served as a vehicle for Cuban revolutionary indoctrination and U.S. propaganda efforts. Returning participants often promoted Cuba’s system.
• Espionage and vetting: The DGI used the program to collect intelligence on Americans (e.g., open-source data on officials), test loyalty, and identify/recruit potential assets for long-term infiltration of U.S. institutions. A 1976 FBI report (detailed in 1977 NYT) noted the goal of recruiting politically oriented individuals who might gain government positions.
• Limited paramilitary training: Some reports indicate a small number of selected brigadistas received guerrilla warfare training, weapons, or explosives instruction (only for those who requested it and were deemed trustworthy). This was not universal but tied to broader Cuban support for revolutionary movements.
• FBI amassed ~23,000 pages of files. No brigadistas were convicted solely for participating, but the group was surveilled heavily.
Connections to militant groups: Many Weather Underground founders and members (e.g., influences on Bernardine Dohrn, Kathy Boudin) had Brigade ties or Cuba exposure, which shaped their radicalization. Susan Rosenberg (May 19th Communist Organization/M19, involved in the 1983 Capitol bombing and other actions) participated in the Brigade. M19 was a Weather splinter pursuing “armed struggle.” These links reflect overlapping radical-left networks of the era rather than the Brigade itself directing terrorism.
In short Venceremos Brigade was a propaganda arm and recruitment tool for Cuban intelligence, enabling ideological indoctrination, potential espionage, and indirect support for militant extremism during the Cold War. It romanticized a repressive regime while U.S. radicals returned more committed to revolutionary change at home.
The leader and founder is now the Mayor of Los Angeles.

💔 LAST PUPPY LEFT BEHIND 💔
Bartholomew has spent his entire life growing up in the puppy room at The City of Mobile Animal Services. One by one, he watched all of his siblings leave for loving homes… and now he’s the only one left. 😢
At just 3 months old, this sweet boy has never known what it feels like to have a family of his own, a cozy bed, or someone waiting for him at home. He shouldn’t have to grow up alone in a shelter.
Bartholomew is only 20 lbs, incredibly loving, and adores being around people. He’s also great with dogs, cats, and everyone he meets. 🐾❤️
Please help the shelter find this precious boy the forever home he deserves before he has to spend another day by himself.
📞 Call the shelter at 251-208-2800 to adopt Bartholomew today!

Please keep sweet little Jodie in your prayers. 💔🐾
Jodie is at the emergency hospital right now fighting for her life. She was found all alone by animal control, just a baby, abandoned and trying to survive on her own. Neighbors said she had been left behind. Thankfully, she was found when she was, because the vets don’t think she would have made it much longer.
She is showing all the symptoms of Parvo, and her tiny little body is fighting so hard.
Please pray for strength, healing, comfort, and a miracle for this precious girl. 🙏
And a huge thank you to Caitie’s Foster Fam Rescue for stepping in and rescuing her from the shelter and giving her a fighting chance. Heroes truly walk among us. ❤️
