This is a huge deal: BSB is the first championship to address the fact that fewer manufacturers are selling superbikes and Ducati’s V4 costs close to double some of the others and as a result is dominating BSB and WSBK, so it’s time to do something about it 👏

Such a grim day. We heard that Kristian Daniel, father to Kristian Daniel Jr, 2027 Tech3 Moto3 rider, lost his life in the Barcelona floods. Kristian was a beautiful man - you rarely meet such warm, human people in the paddock. My heart goes out to all his family and loved ones. We also heard that a European Lombok MotoGP visitor died in a scooter accident. To survive on a motorcycle you have to assume that every other road user is going to do the worst thing at the worst time. Especially in places where the roads are pretty wild. And always wear a lid #RIP

Thank you to the @EastMidRailway conductor on the 7.10 train from Grantham to Nottingham this morning who tackled a bunch of people making everyone else's lives hell in the carriage. That is not a job I would want to do but he handled it very well.

Interesting phrasing, BBC News! I feel sure a woman has won something in a UK tournament before… don’t tell me, don’t tell me..

I am rocked to the core with the news I received this morning that my dear friend Scott has passed away.
Sleep well buddy, I’m sure we will meet again in the future.
There are many many people me included that Scott played a major role in my life and career. Missing you already mate 😥 GOD BLESS
The British Touring Car Championship is saddened to learn of the passing of Scott Dennis, the former Motorsport Manager of SEAT UK.
Scott played a pivotal role in bringing the Spanish marque into the BTCC in 2004, overseeing a hugely successful five-year programme that quickly established SEAT as one of the championship’s leading manufacturers. With drivers including Jason Plato, Rob Huff, James Thompson and Darren Turner, SEAT Sport UK claimed numerous race victories, the Manufacturers’ Championship in 2006 and the Teams’ title in 2007.
Scott’s enthusiasm, professionalism and unmistakable passion for motorsport made him a popular and respected figure throughout the paddock.
The thoughts and sincere condolences of everyone connected with the BTCC are with Scott’s family, friends and former colleagues at this very sad time.
Imagina preferir ver a 22 millonarios esperando a que escampe y que se reinicie el software de sus coches que ver un puto mundial de rallys que se decide a 2 curvas de meta del último tramo del último rally.
Yo elegí el lado bueno de la historia.

🇬🇧 Allan McNish - Toyota TF102 V10
During Saturday afternoon qualifying, McNish was navigating Suzuka's fearsome, high-speed 130R corner traveling at approximately 170–175 mph.
Following a front anti-roll bar adjustment, his Toyota TF102 was much faster through the sweepers, but as he entered 130R, the car suddenly snapped into severe, uncontrollable oversteer.
Unable to catch the slide, McNish spun and went backwards through the protective metal barriers, punching completely through the fence and coming to a rest behind the barrier.
Medical Aftermath and Withdrawal
Remarkably, considering the sheer ferocity of the shunt, McNish managed to climb out of the wreckage under his own power, though he was visibly shaken and sat on a nearby banking before being taken to the medical center.
Injuries:
He suffered severe bruising, particularly to his right knee and leg, alongside heavy impact trauma.
The Decision:
McNish initially tested his fitness and participated in the Sunday morning warm-up session. However, after consulting with FIA medical chief Professor Sid Watkins, it was decided he should be withdrawn from the race.
Doctors were concerned about fluid accumulation in his calf and the physical risks of enduring a full 53-lap Grand Prix distance so soon after such a massive deceleration trauma.
McNish's crash—compounded by a similar high-speed accident at the same corner by Ricardo Zonta earlier that year—highlighted the extreme dangers of 130R. Following the 2002 events, circuit organizers heavily redesigned and re-profiled the 130R corner, altering the entry angle and expanding run-off areas to prevent cars from hitting barriers quite so directly at high speeds in the future.
This was the last time Allan McNish would take part in F1.

⚠️🚨 Liberty Media's F1 Group CEO Stefano Domenicali has announced that the Qatar & Abu Dhabi F1 GPs will go ahead, which presumably means November's Qatar round will also happen. (MotoGP is a subsidiary of the F1 Group.) What else to call this but outrageously greedy & irresponsible?
Liberty are sending thousands of staff into a war zone to race cars (& probably motorbikes) around in circles to somewhat alleviate the financial damage done to the company by the US/Iran war, which has wiped $2 billion off its market value.
Yes, Domenicali says “everything is in order” and all three events may pass without incident, but that's not the point.
The Iranian regime may not plan to strike F1 or MotoGP, but due to communication blackouts and the deaths of military leaders, the IRGC has delegated launch authority down the ranks. ie any IRGC drone or missile operator can decide what makes a good target.
Hoping Liberty puts lives beyond dollars. Beyond that, hope all three events go OK. But this is a new low.
