Brahmin haters had been declaring Abhishek Sharma a 'Kumhar' since yesterday. now Abhishek Sharma himself responded with a post and story calling himself "Baamna Da Chhora."
Now, those who despise Brahmins can do nothing but cope.✊
Magnificent!
If you grew up in the rural parts of India or even spent some time there, you would have probably seen a Lantana plant and its colourful flowers. While it looks colourful, it has to be one of the world's worst invasive species. It was brought to India as an ornamental shrub in the 18th century, but it has now spread like a disease across 13 million hectares of priceless forest land and pastures.
The worst part is that this plant releases chemicals that harm the growth of native plant species. It's also toxic, so cows, goats, etc., can't eat it. The problem has become so bad that in the Nilgiris, it's become impossible to get rid of this plant.
There's some hope with organizations like Atree and the Shola Trust (both supported by @RainmatterOrg) working on turning this harmful shrub into furniture and biomass.
Perhaps the most iconic transformation of the plant is the Lantana elephant, which you might have seen at the airports.
Here's a video by @thebetterindia on how this plant spread in India and its side effects.

Look ! Indian Elephants have finally arrived in New York. Titled as the 'Great Elephant Migration' a travelling herd of 100 stunning life size elephant sculptures have reached NYC. These elephant sculptures have been made by local tribal artisans from Gudalur in Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu, from the invasive lantana species. The 'Great Elephant Migration' is travelling around the world spreading the message of coexistence & creating awareness about the need to remove invasives like lantana camara from forests to save wildlife. Each elephant has been created by the Coexistence Collective, a community of 200 indigenous artisans from Bettakurumba, Paniya, Kattunayakan and Soliga communities of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, Tamil Nadu. Kudos Dr. Tarsh and Subhas (people behind this) So proud of your work. Way to go @sabya_mukherjee @therealeleco

There are no wastelands in India. Only wasted opportunities for conservation and restoration of fragile ecosystems. Time for us to ditch this archaic colonial relict.

In Bengaluru, a unique exhibition called “Coexistence: The Great Elephant Migration” started on Feb 3. 🌿🐘
Environmentalists and conservationists showcase 100 elephants made from Lantana weed across the city.
Lantana Camara is an invasive weed native to South America. The significant presence of lantanas in tiger reserves of Karnataka has posed a serious threat to wildlife movement and biodiversity ecosystem, leading to conflicts.
Located in places like Lalbagh Garden, Vidhana Soudha, and metro stations, they aim to spark conversations on conservation.
The event, running till Mar 3, includes over 50 talks, nature trails, and more. 🌳
Thanks Sanjana and @CurlyTalesIndia for sharing this! I hope you enjoyed the exhibition.
