As the exclusive sponsorship begins, another big thank you to @Omarchy's Omacom Foundation for sponsoring Hyprland for 3 years!!
This will allow Hyprland to smoothly continue development for the coming years and bring more and more hypr into linux.

Dear Prime Minister Ambani,
Please accept my humble apologies for not realizing that you are the real boss of India.
Naturally, you would prefer to maintain your monopolistic exploitation of the great people of India, but would you nonetheless consider allowing Starlink to compete?
There are many areas of India, as there are in all countries, with no Internet access, which denies children the opportunity for education and for small businesses the opportunity to sell their goods to a global market. Starlink would change their lives for the better.
Thank you 🙏

The Case for Fundamentals
Until AI completely takes over software development, to the point where understanding fundamental concepts is no longer necessary and human language becomes the new programming interface, I believe strong foundations are more important than ever.
Imagine having no idea how instrumentation works in a framework, and then AI generates instrumentation code using a language feature you've never encountered before. The moment you see it, all you can do is ask AI to explain it. Or AI writes infrastructure code to optimize database connection pooling, and you don't understand what it's doing. So you ask AI again. It explains it using another set of technical terms you don't understand. You end up in a loop where AI is translating one layer of unfamiliar abstractions into another. Even worse, you don't still take time to learn and understand these concepts.
That's not really engineering. That's delegation without understanding.
Until AI no longer needs to depend on languages, frameworks, libraries, databases, runtimes, operating systems, and tools to develop software, and can reason directly from intent to a working system, software engineers should be doubling down on fundamentals, not abandoning them.
There's another distinction worth making.
If you've been programming for 20 to 30 years, spent that time understanding how computers and software actually work, and concluded that agents can now handle most of the implementation work, that's very different from someone who hasn't been programming for even a decade, never bothered to explore the fundamentals, and now says, "Agents can do everything."
Those two people may be using the same AI tools, but they are not operating at the same level.
The more capable AI becomes, the more valuable deep understanding becomes. Not necessarily because you need to write every line yourself, but because you need to know what to ask for, what to question, what to reject, what to investigate, and when AI is simply generating something confidently that you don't understand.
(Personal experience from using AI)
Omarchy now has an official bug bounty program on HackerOne! The Omacom Foundation has funded it with $100,000 for bounties, and we've promoted @mdisec to Omarchy Core as our Head of Security. omarchy.org/news/2026/10/oma…

With Rails 8, Solid Cable joined the Solid family, making it possible to deploy many Rails apps to production without Redis. Solid Cable creator @pezza_n gets into its internals at #RailsWorld: why it was created, where it fits against other adapters, and why ordered message delivery is about to matter more as realtime Rails apps start talking to LLMs. rubyonrails.org/world/2026/s…
So freaking cool! We're running Omarchy ads in the center of Copenhagen on Rådhuspladsen this week. Design by @Dennis_Rye and funded by @sonderby 👏
There's even a billboard generator available if you want to do this in your city: github.com/llstrk/omarchy-bi…
Omarchy week has started in Copenhagen! Thank you @sonderby for collaborating and helping fund this. And thank you @dhh for letting Peter and I do something crazy. @OmarchyLinux

I can't believe how stupid people can be and yet so determined. That energy and dedication, man these were sad little people with nothing interesting going on in their lives
Oh noes!! The clowns have made a little website that rants left and right about the evils of "fashware" and capitalism and all the many (MANY!) people you have to boycot. And lots of non-Omarchy ones thrown in for good measure 🤣 stopomarchy.neocities.org/
Omarchy on M1 and M2 (and soon more!) in about five minutes!! Still more to polish, but this is an excellent start towards a fully seamless installation process for all of Apple Silicon 🤘
