#FossilFriday More fossils from the traffic bollards in Libourne, France. These appear to be fasciculate corals but the preservation is slightly puzzling.

My response to the backlash from cleb gardeners about rewilding. I do hope they listen. It's not about abandoning your garden. It's about thinking about nature first.

Deer numbers are exploding in NZ, preventing forest regrowth, & changing the mix of species. @NZNationalParty doesn’t care about conservation with this daft policy which preferences deer & tahr over native species.
📢 NEW POLICY 📢
Minister of Hunting & Fishing
Deer, pigs, chamois, tahr no longer classified pests and….
Volunteers helping maintain DOC huts (which is already happening)
No new funding

Trogonoptera trojana, Palawan birdwing or triangle birdwing, is a #birdwing #butterfly of the family Papilionidae. It is endemic to Palawan in the #Philippines. It is one of only two species in its genus, the other being the more widespread Rajah Brooke's birdwing. #entomology

Well, we sequenced the first genomes of this entire phylum of animals, and learned that they are even weirder than we thought!
