Every HVAC callback costs you a truck, a tech, a couple hours and some trust. Most shops can't tell you how many they had last month. Or why.

The FBI continues to warn about two critical security flaws in PHP, a programming language used to build many websites and online services. Attackers could exploit these vulnerabilities to break into systems, putting sensitive information and business operations at risk. Security updates are available and should be applied immediately. If you are a business owner or website operator, check whether your systems are affected. Contact your IT support team, website developer, or hosting provider for help identifying vulnerable systems and applying the necessary updates. The FBI urges organizations to take the following steps now: ➡️ If an immediate update is not feasible it is recommended that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated. ➡️ Immediately update affected PHP installations following the guidance on php.net. Inventory where PHP runs in your environment, prioritizing internet-facing systems and vendor products that bundle PHP. ➡️ Monitor web servers for suspicious activity, including PHP processes unexpectedly launching command shells or downloading files. Ensure appropriate process-monitoring capabilities are in place to help identify potential exploitation. ➡️ If you find signs of compromise, isolate affected systems, preserve your web server and PHP logs, and report it to your local FBI field office or ic3.gov. Those reports help us identify the actors involved and warn other organizations before they become victims. For the latest information on these vulnerabilities (CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619), follow PHP’s announcements on php.net, CERT-EU Security Advisory 2026-018, and CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog.

Two days to get a quote out is too long. The other guy already called back. Quoting from old spreadsheets and memory is how deals slip. Fix the data first, then the software actually helps.

Today I've seen quite a few "can't believe people are connecting emails and their contacts and all their personal info to AI bots" type posts Yep. It's fully integrated into my life at this point Some risk in that? Probably, heck, almost surely Here's what I think though... This goes beyond "adopt it or be left behind" and all the way to "You won't have any other options" Soon, much sooner than we think IMO, this is how ALL tech will work Your phone will simply be a terminal to connect to your bot. Same for your laptop, tablet, desktop. There won't be anything else That's why @Meta , @SpaceX and @AnthropicAI are throwing so much time, money, and other resources into it It will displace legacy tech "Log in to Gmail to check my mail" won't be a thing anymore For better or worse, this is the biggest and will be the most disruptive invention in human history IMO

Your best estimator is probably carrying half your pricing in their head. What happens when they retire? I'd sit them down this year and record how they quote. Don't wait on it.

Most trades businesses don't have a system. They have an owner. Pricing in his head, vendors in his phone. Before you buy software, capture what your best people know: how they quote, how they diagnose a call. That's what lets you take a week off, or sell.

Most shops know what they spend on materials and labor. Rework? Return trips? Scrap? Nobody writes that stuff down. Track every redo for a month and you'll probably wince.
36
"We'll handle that in phase two" is the most expensive sentence in AI. If nobody can tell me which system wins when two records disagree, you don't have a pilot problem, you have an ownership problem. Start with the ugly cases. techtarget.com/it-strategy/n…

BREAKING: Canada is making it EASIER for foreign workers to get Citizenship and "high-wage" jobs in Canada. They're doubling down on handing out citizenship like candy. New Express Entry rules starting November 3 will award extra points for Canadian work experience or a job offer in a high-wage occupation — and in many cases, a Labour Market Impact Assessment will no longer be required for those points. The government says this targets top talent for economic growth. In practice, it makes it easier for temporary workers to convert a job offer into permanent residency, the key step before citizenship. The changes MEAN lower barriers for immigrants already here to lock in status and stay permanently.

💥MAJOR BREAKING: Ottawa scrapped the only rule that required employers to hire Canadians first. Buried in paragraph two of an IRCC release, employers no longer have to advertise a job, prove no qualified Canadian applied, or pay $1,000 for an LMIA — for a high-wage job offer to count toward permanent residence. The Labour Market test is gone from the PR route, and verification moves out of ESDC, whose mandate is protecting Canadian workers, and into IRCC, whose mandate is selecting immigrants. Still think the great replacement is a conspiracy?

Only 10% of British Columbian families are able to get their kids into $10/day daycare. David Eby's family was one of them, even though they make OVER HALF A MILLION PER YEAR. This is a program for struggling families, like single moms who can't afford to work and look after their children at the same time. And remember, while Conservatives were calling for the program to be means-tested, David Eby said NO! Eby should be ashamed of himself.

Surrey mom Lisa Kemp says child care for her two children, two-year-old Kaia and six-year-old Jack, costs her family almost $1,900 a month. Meanwhile Premier Eby who makes $230,000 yearly and his Doctor wife gets one of the few ten dollar a day daycare slots in BC. voiceonline.com/bc-conservat…

This is the equivalent of stealing from a food bank in my books Total scum move. David Eby is done
Just now, David Eby confirms that he has his kids in $10/day taxpayer-subsidized daycare. Approx. only 10% of BC daycare spots offer $10/day daycare. Most families who want in can't get a spot. As Premier, Eby earns $227k/year. Eby's wife is a doctor. Their household income is likely well over half a million dollars per year. We don't resent British Columbians who are successful (we want more people to succeed). But where there are wait lists, surely a wealthy family like Eby's shouldn't be taking advantage of $10/day daycare. Think about a working single mother? David Eby deserves the spot more than her?

THIS is what Canada did to its youth with mass immigration. I charted out average housing prices (red) vs wages (blue) ... AFTER inflation is removed. Housing prices are 3x higher for the average worker in Canada than they were in 1980. They destroyed an entire generation.
