Los diagnósticos de sífilis registrados por AHF Argentina, una ONG que busca prevenir las enfermedades de transmisión sexual, aumentaron 17,5% entre 2024 y 2025 en sus centros comunitarios de salud sexual de Buenos Aires y Rosario.
La mayor tasa, entre mujeres jóvenes
Entre las mujeres, la suba llegó al 26%. La tasa más alta se registró entre jóvenes de 20 a 24 años, con 366 casos cada 100.000 mujeres frente a 218,2 cada 100.000 varones.
Una infección que puede pasar inadvertida
La sífilis puede atravesar períodos sin síntomas, por lo que una persona puede tener la infección sin saberlo y transmitirla. El testeo periódico y el uso del preservativo son herramientas centrales para prevenir contagios y detectar la enfermedad a tiempo.
Los jóvenes concentran los casos
Durante 2025, el 82,2% de los diagnósticos registrados por AHF correspondió a personas de entre 20 y 39 años. Entre los jóvenes de 20 a 24 años, los casos aumentaron 27,4% respecto de 2024, mientras que en el grupo de 25 a 29 años subieron 22%.
También aumentan las reinfecciones
Las reinfecciones crecieron 166% entre 2024 y 2025 y pasaron de representar el 12,3% al 27,8% de los diagnósticos. AHF advierte que haber tenido sífilis no genera inmunidad y que una persona puede volver a contraerla.

More than 80 families from New York have moved into Lakefront Estates, where schools have now opened. Dozens more families are expected in the coming weeks, following reported investment of hundreds of millions of dollars in the project.
Located in Glades County near Lake Okeechobee, Lakefront is a purpose-built residential community. The broader development plan calls for up to 1,000 single-family homes and 300 rental units.
The vision goes beyond housing: plans include synagogues, mikvahs, boys’ and girls’ schools, a yeshiva, a kollel, kosher shopping and medical services. Developers are targeting families seeking more space and an alternative to soaring housing costs in established Orthodox neighborhoods.
Hatzalah South Florida has also begun organizing a local branch, meeting with prospective responders who will serve Lakefront. With families arriving and classrooms opening, the focus now shifts from construction to building the services a growing community needs.
