Nothing changes. What about a full sync from zero after 100 years? At today's measured performance, about 2 hours and 10 minutes to sync a century of Parano1d blockchain history from scratch. And here's what matters. The recursive State proof still takes about 10.78 seconds to verify. What grows with chain age is the time spent downloading and verifying block headers. The only reason I still keep those headers is to preserve historical transaction proofs, so you can prove to someone that a payment happened years or even decades ago. Technically, I could eliminate header storage entirely and move header verification into an O(1) recursive proof. But you're not ready for that yet.
