New Blog by Ethan Edwards. This Divisional Court decision affirms that dependency does not require co-residency, direct financial support, or day-to-day care. Evidence of emotional guidance and parental-style relationships can establish dependency under the SABS. #TheSBAWay

Shoutout to Ethan Edwards on a favourable result for our client in Borenko v. Wawanesa. The Tribunal found that the claimant did not meet the burden for MIG removal and dismissed all claims for IRBs, AC, and other benefits.

In Takwa v. Co-operators, the LAT dismissed the claim for accident benefits, finding the Applicant could not simply submit evidence and leave it to the Tribunal to connect the dots to make his case. Congrats, Laura Emmett. #TheSBAWay Read more here: canlii.ca/t/kb94h
