WTF is this? YouTube is refusing to pay me over $27k that I rightfully earned. I worked my ass off for this content. This is absolutely unacceptable.

When one video works, don’t rush to a new topic. Prometheus History’s “The Youngest School Shooters Ever” got 256K views. Part 2 got 530K. Turn winning ideas into a series. For example, if “How Roman Soldiers Ate” performs well, make: “How Roman Soldiers Slept” “How Roman Soldiers Got Paid” “How Roman Soldiers Died”
One viewer under History with Dave’s medieval Europe video said it felt like learning through a cartoon movie. That comment has 2.8K likes. The video has 2.7M views. That’s the detail I’d pay attention to: people are praising the way they learned, not just the history. For a faceless channel, try drawing the explanation itself. A map, a sequence, a simple diagram. Give the viewer something that helps the story make sense.

Becoming More’s money video starts with Mike Tyson going bankrupt. That’s a strong way to make someone care about a finance lesson. If a man who earned millions could lose it, earning more might not solve everything. The video has 1.9M views. I think that opening is worth studying. Before explaining your topic, show a real situation that makes the explanation matter. Give people something to figure out, then teach them.

Would you turn down a promotion? Tom Talks Money’s video about refusing one has 374K views. His broader video about corporate careers has 11K. Both are six months old. My guess: the promotion video gives someone a reason to watch before making a decision. The career video is easier to save for “later.” For an educational channel, look for moments when people need your knowledge. Before signing, buying, accepting or quitting. Build a video around that moment.

A winning topic can run out of fresh questions. History Unleashed has 412K views on what happened to Roman soldiers too old to fight. A later video about their retirement has 642 views after two months. The older upload has had longer, but I’d still be careful repeating almost the same question. If you’re following up a successful video, give the viewer something new to find out. Someone who watched the first one should still have a reason to click.

“Evolution Explained” sounds like homework. “1000 Years in 18 Minutes” sounds like you’re about to save me hours. Both are on How So. The Islamic history video has 3.4M views, evolution has 116K, and both are three years old. I suspect that promise helps. It tells you how much you’ll understand and how little time you need. Try putting the value of watching into your title, especially when the subject sounds complicated.

Bedtime & Historian made me rethink video length. Most of their biggest videos are 2 to 4 hours long, and some have over 300K views. It works because people use them to relax or fall asleep. A long video isn’t too long if it matches why people clicked.

Something stood out to me on Dark Tales of Britain. “Lost Innocence” got 70K views, while videos using names most people don’t know got far fewer views. It makes sense. If the person isn’t famous, their name won’t get the click. Use the most interesting part of their story instead.

I nearly skipped this channel because it only has around 14K subscribers. Then I checked the views. Findicate has a video sitting at 177K views after two weeks, and another recently crossed 245K. What caught my attention is the way they handle finance. Instead of explaining a broad topic, they build each video around one person, one decision and the pressure surrounding it. That gives viewers a story to follow. If your niche feels too boring, the niche may not be the problem. You might just need to put a person at the centre of it.

I came across a channel with only 21 videos and around 13,000 subscribers. One of those videos has over 400,000 views. It reminded me that you don’t always need hundreds of uploads to grow. A few well-researched videos can do more than posting weak ideas every week just to remain active. More videos help, but better ideas help more.
I try not to upload a video immediately after I finish editing it. I leave it alone for a few hours, then watch it again. That’s usually when I notice the intro is too long, a point was repeated or a scene stayed on the screen for too long, sometimes the best final edit is simply taking a break.

I now write the first 30 seconds of a video before touching the full script. Then I read it out loud. If I’m still introducing the topic instead of getting into the interesting part, I cut it down. People already clicked because of the title. Don’t make them wait too long for what they came to see.

I think many creators misunderstand competitor research. They see a video with one million views and immediately make the same topic. I’d rather figure out why people clicked it. Was it the mystery, the downfall, the money or the unexpected result? Copying the topic makes you late. Understanding the curiosity gives you more ideas.

I used to get excited whenever I found one viral video in a niche. Now I check the rest of the channel first. If one video has millions of views but the next ten are struggling, I don’t take that as proof the niche is working. One video can get lucky. I’m looking for a pattern.

The comment section has given me more video ideas than most research tools. When many viewers keep asking the same question or saying something was left unexplained, that’s another video waiting to be made. Don’t only study your competitors’ views. Read their comments too.

My friend: “This video has low views. I’m deleting it.” Me: “Please leave that video alone. YouTube may pick it up weeks later. If the content is good, try a better title or thumbnail first.” Not every video is dead after 24 hours.

Again, she has been pushing since beginning of last year and never gave up. God has a special way of blessing those who remain consistent.

A friend of mine : “I get into the story first and give people a reason to stay. You can always ask them to subscribe later. First, earn their attention.” Me: “you’re not serious, you will soon start crying for subscribers after you must have completed your watch hours”
