A clear, realistic take on what it means to bring manufacturing back to the US.
Replying to @JamesSurowiecki
It's not obvious why a waitress in America should have to pay significantly more for sneakers so that they can be made in a factory in the U.S. employing 200 robots and 12 people, rather than one employing 500 people in Vietnam.

On the Warriors+/- pod, @ThompsonScribe suggested the @warriors rest everyone vs. Brooklyn on Mon (incl. @StephenCurry30 ) in order to set up the big matchup vs. @okcthunder on Wed. Instead they played everyone on Mon (3rd game in 4 days), lost, and now will rest everyone and lose in the OKC game on Wed. Now 0/2 here instead of 1/2 with chance for a big conf win vs. OKC. Gotta listen to Marcus. Sad! cc @timkawakami @anthonyVslater
Steph Curry (bilateral knee) is OUT tonight vs. OKC.

The best “both things are true” statement on modern pro athlete contract negotiations. 👏👏👇👇
The two dumbest ideas in football negotiations are: 1. The belief of football clubs that bumbling around until the last possible moment to offer an acceptable contract is somehow a negotiating tactic that works well; and, 2. The belief of football players that a ball club should offer up what they want five months before they need to and if they don’t it’s disrespectful. I get so sick of the puttering around by front offices. You know you will have to pay— just do it! And the passive-aggressive, pouting, emoji bullshit by players—just stop. NONE of that helps get a contract more quickly, my dudes. Start talking in good faith and keep talking until you hammer something out. In the meantime, STFU in public spaces.

AWS is committed to bringing the value of open source to our customers. Today I’m delighted to share our latest open source collaboration between Amazon Timestream and InfluxData. aws.amazon.com/blogs/aws/run… Timestream for InfluxDB is a new time-series database engine that makes it easy for application developers and DevOps teams to run fully managed InfluxDB databases on @awscloud for real-time time-series applications using open-source APIs. As Founder and Chief Technology Officer at InfluxData Paul Dix put it, “Our partnership with AWS turns InfluxDB open source into a force multiplier for real-time insights on time-series data, making it easier than ever for developers to build and scale their time-series workloads on AWS.” Couldn’t agree more—my team and I look forward to working with InfluxData in helping customers for all of their time-series workloads! I really wish more people were talking about this story when praising the wonderful Andy Reid. Thought so in 2019. Still think so in 2024. Be better.
Britt Reid cut the line into NFL coaching. Now he’s cut the line out of prison. A tragedy of privilege and protection and a still recovering little girl. sports.yahoo.com/britt-reid-…

Timely! 🤦‍♂️

Yesterday’s @Niners win felt a lot like G7 of the 2016 @warriors-@okcthunder series. Outlasted a younger more dynamic challenger. Nearly died but survived. Hoping it turns out better than it did for #GSW that year. #BangBang

Inspiring story behind this photo. Saban was 49 when took the LSU job. 56 when he started at Alabama. Carroll was 50 when he took the USC job. And 60 when he started w/ Seattle. Couple of football legends who reached their greatest heights late in life.
The 2 GOAT’s! Would not be where I am today without these two men as mentors! Thank you for everything!

Exactly correct take from @GusFarwell #pac12 forever. 🤘
Thoughts on the National Championship: the first thing I looked up as soon as we knew the teams was the venue. I don’t know how you stop a fully healthy M. Penix Jr and co on a turf field in a dome with no elements. Michigan would’ve been strengthened by some winter weather. The game will undoubtedly be close but just look up how the Huskies have faired in close contests as of late. Also watch the last THREE games vs Oregon. Underestimate this Washington team at your own peril. The ability to score in seemingly no time at all comes in handy. Either way, should be a great game and I know the Huskies will represent their university, state and conference with pride. 💪🔥🐺

They really had George Kliavkoff give the champ. trophy for the conference that disintegrated on his watch what an absolute embarrassment. 108 years of history down the drain. Dude has zero shame. #Pac12Championship
