So I reviewed @bsnacks's debut novel, CITY OF A THOUSAND GATES, for the @latimes -- I was so so so nervous about reading this book (due to personal reasons basically), but ended up really loving and admiring it.

A full, white moon hangs in the sky, and a dotted white line extends down diagonally to a white half-circle in the middle of the cover, which consists of blue waves. Currently reading THE LOVER by @bsnacks. Gorgeously written. Utterly emotional. I can't put it down, and reading it while watching the situation in Gaza is heart-wrenching in itself. Cannot recommend this book enough. @HarperCollins
Iām watching as so many of my fellows Jews have our grief used to justify horrible violence. We must find another way.
No one said it better than the late Kundera: āThe characters in my novels are my own unrealized possibilities. That is why I am equally fond of them and equally horrified by them.ā Thank you for having me, @lithub
