Syria abandoned its embassy in Washington DC in 2014, during the Syrian civil war, and nobody has been back since. The whole place is now an overgrown mess.
They also abandoned this Mercury Mariner in the parking lot, and it hasn’t moved in a decade. I think of it often.

My 2008-vintage @bowerswilkins Zeppelin went belly-up with no way to fix. I gutted the electronics leaving only speakers inside. One AliExpress 2.1 audio amp and 3 project nights later, and I was able to give Zep a second life! iPod arm relocated to the backside to mount the amp.
