We dropped by the NVIDIA RTX SPARK Launch Celebration at Best Buy in San Francisco today. 💻🎉 Hands-on laptop demos showed off what this new hardware can actually do, local founders shared insights during fireside chats, and Jensen even appeared remotely.  We saw the very first customer purchasing an RTX Spark laptop right on the sales floor. A few specific models are available on shelves today for immediate purchase, while preorders have officially opened up for the remainder of the lineup.  Read our complete RTX Spark laptop launch coverage on PCMag.  #RTXSpark #NVIDIARTX #BestBuy #TechNews #AllAccess

WW smartphones -22% YoY in 3Q26 due to component prices, but still better than -29% f/c. Top 5 rankings unchanged w/Samsung still leading; Chinese vendors more exposed to the low-end idc.com/resource-center/pres…

China smartphones -15% YoY in 3Q26 due to price increases. Most vendors slipped but Huawei was still able to keep its momentum via careful price adjustments. Apple slipped without base model refreshes this year but still did better than expected idc.com/resource-center/pres…

One of my jobs at Apple was making sure that green LED is as bright as possible and can be seen from every angle. Ended up running hundreds of ray traced simulations just to move a tiny diffuser by .3mm

People complaining that the wall-mounted #homeview from @Apple costs the same as the speaker base version miss the point. The wall-mounted model is aimed at installers and home builders, who are less price-sensitive.

📅 Apple hosts its “Welcome home” event in New York today, and the theme is the smart home. According to @markgurman at @Bloomberg, the expected lineup includes a home hub with a screen, a new HomePod mini, and a new Apple TV. This is a category that Apple can easily disrupt. According to IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Smart Home Device Tracker, Apple shipped 4 million units in H1 2026, around 1% of the market. In Q2 2026, Apple’s smart home revenue grew 12% while its units fell 4.7%. Apple has built a premium niche, and a single hub will not quickly change its market share. Its real asset is the iPhone installed base. With the new Siri AI, the hub becomes the control layer for households already living in Apple’s ecosystem.

To all the "have you tried to pull it vertically?" naysayers (aka Apple fans), it's fine. The actual end of the Type-C connector is very short; the magnets hold it in place. In fact, it's SO short that end of the cable won't even work on any other Type-C device. It won't stay in/make a connection. BUT, you ask, "What if I wanted to use my Surface Laptop Ultra charger to charge my phone?" Microsoft thought of that. The cable is reversible. The other end is a normal Type-C connector. The magnetic end also connects to the charging brick magnetically and completely reverses, giving you flexibility.
Giving the people what they want. Yes, the new @Microsoft Surface Ultra laptop charger can be tugged out.

This Meta Glasses commercial at the US Open was absolutely brilliant. At the end of the day, your phone might just stay in your pocket. $META is coming for your lunch, $AAPL. Watch out.

The Kindle experience on the new Amazon Alexa Tablets is rad. The 3:2 ratio is perfectly balanced to get more of the page on screen, and when you open a book, magic happens. The whole display changes. Notifications turn off automatically. Battery optimization kicks in for up to 20 hours of reading. And an adaptive display and the blue light filter activate. The device transforms into a distraction-free reading sanctuary. This is the best reading experience we’ve ever invented for a tablet.
